06 MS6
Well, not actually an owner...I leased (3yrs/15k). Just picked up my 06 MS6 GT last weekend and absolutely loving it! I was in a 99 Mustang GT for the last 3 years and couldn't bear the thought of driving that lead sled through another KC winter...

I got the whitewater pearl w/ the 2 tone leather interior. There was only it, one titanium,a couple black micas, and a few black cherry micas left...the white, platinum, and titanium were my top colors. But, since it was the only unit left w/ a sunroof, that kind of tipped the scales in it's favor. Besides, I thought there was something nice about the 2 tone leather.

Anyway, I'm very happy to find this place with other enthusiasts; i love to tinker w/ my cars and it's alway nice to have a couple good resources before you start wrenching!

Welcome to the Forum. My turbo envy is raising it's ugly head again. Compare and contrast the MS6 and the Stang GT please?

Well, I've only had the car about 6 days, but here are my first (very nontechnical) impressions.

First off, power/torque feels fairly similar. Unmodified, the 1999 mustang was rated at 260 hp @ 5,250 rpm and 300 lbs-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm...never dyno'd that car, but i'm pretty confident that my mostly stock (cai and catback), 8 yr old/102k mile car was not producing these numbers. Even then, there still was some fun 'umph' above 3500 rpm. That was all fine and good if your going in a straight line; because of the AWD and better low end torque, the power of the MS6 feels WAY more accessible and usable. It pulls nicely in all gears above 2500 rpm and is loads of fun in the twisties :) I think I won't have the flash done quite yet; I like that mid range kick! Unless I eventually experience power loss, I see no reason to flatten out the power band.

Second, the clutch is, comparitively, much lighter and 'springy-er' than than my old car. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the king cobra clutch in the Mustang...stiff as hell. I swear my left leg felt like it would fall off after 30 minutes of gridlock. Anyway, the MS6 is significantly softer and that's taking a little getting used to. It's fine that it is, there just seemed to be a little more feedback/response from the pedal before.

Third, It's SO flipping quiet! :) I mean I can hear something other than the exhaust drone, especially on the freeway. I'm sure some people here are begging for more sound from their MS6's, but after 3 yrs of hearing only exhaust noise, it's a welcome change for me. Not to say I wouldn't consider a CAI/DP/BOV/Catback on this car, I just have no interest in going back to the dull roar I'm accustomed to.

Lastly, I like the fit and finish in the MS6...the mustang's interior was so spartan, cheap, and dated. I knew I had to have some sort of performance car, but also wanted a splash of luxury...so long as those bells and whistles didn't come at the expense of performance. I think Mazda has found a great balance here; the MS6 is truly a driver's car with a dash of creature comfort.

So, after 6 days that's all I've got for now...just got to start looking for decent tires for the approacing midwest winter!

We are currently working on some new parts for the MS6, let us know if you have any ideas for it.

Good to see more parts are being made, I heard you guys got a Speed6...

FMIC, Downpipe.... ehh, most companies are going to make them, but if you guys are looking for hardware pieces...

I wouldn't do an intake... too many on the market already, I have seen 6...

If you want to do something different.... I have 2 ideas...

*Sway Bars*.... I have talked to MANY companies about making these, and I'll tell you now, the market will be great because there is no competition....

*Turbo Manifold*... not sure how good the stock one is, but this is an option most have not researched :)....

Anyways, I'm in Orlando too... so if you need any help let me know...

NIce

I just picked up mine on Wednesday 8/30. White was my first color choice but my wife didnt like it, and I could only get a Silver with the white leather (not my thing). They were going to locate the car I wanted but I got a significantly better deal buy taking dealer stock, so titanium it was. This is by far the fastest car I have owned, its pretty nice to be able to go fast without even trying. Congrats, happy trails.

I know what you mean. I had an RB catback on my P5 which was the quietest one available and I was getting annoyed on the highway in the end. Now I can cruise 80 mph without having to turn the stereo waay up. I love having a quiet car now.
