had to improvise with the bracket. the battery is way smaller then the stock one. i found this rubber stub thing and wedged it between the battery and the bracket.

I don't like spiral cell batteries.. their end life cycle is kinda weird, it will work fine one day and be comepletly unrecoverable the next, so you never really know if it's acutaly gone or not. It's not like a traditional battery that just dosen't hold charge. Not mentioning that bringing it back from 0 charge takes hours with trickle charge.

this battery is made for audio equipment.

is see you have a S4? i had a 2001.5. it was very fun to drive, when it wasn't in the shop. i tuned mine with dahlback. you?
stage II+ with ER intercoolers, GIAC 93 and 100octane files(low 13's in 90+ weather my very first time to the strip at waterfest 15, still was one of the top 5 cars in the whole event that was basically stock). Its fun blowing the doors off of just about everything. Although as you said, it's definitely a love/hate thing.. and is just about in a constant state of repair. luckily I can DIY otherwise I would have traded in during the first month of ownership.

on the battery part, I realize optima batteries are designed around heavy duty performance and I don't doubt it's capability during the majority of it's life cycle. I was simply highlighting that when it does go.. its hard to actually diagnose a failed battery, as well as it requiring trickle charge if it is drained. Which is why I simply don't run one.

there's a bracket that fits under the battery, it will lift up about 3 inch. It's free from optima. just call

agreed, actually I've never seen an optima that didn't came with the free lifter. If yours didnt I'm guessing someone 'lifted' it without buying the battery.
