You know I can't fit msp stock tires, I'm running 215/40

According to the tire size calculator, there is only a .8" difference between the stock tires and my current.

195/55/15 to 205/40/17 is a 1.4% difference.. negligible.

195/55/15 to 215/45/17 is a 5% difference.. thats over 5mph at highway speeds. (this is the difference between MSP and non-MSP calibration)

215/45/17 to 225/50/16 is a 1% difference.. my summer set up next year.

is that calibration in the transmission or the gauge cluster?

well it wouldn't be in the trans, as the ABS cars read speedo off of the wheel speed sensors (I believe?).. but i don't know if its in the ECU or the cluster. do the non-abs cars have a mechanical VSS or electrical?

You're correct, abs cars read off the wheel sensors.

I think they're electrical but I'm not sure.

its not the ecu, because my speed sensor goes right from the trans to the gauge cluster. i had a msp gauge cluster at one point and didnt notice a difference (dunno)

It is the sensor weither it be on the trans like mine (non-abs) or on the wheel sensors like on the MSP or other ABS.

unless you were referencing GPS speedo against RPMs, I don't think you'd see it... 5% isn't really a lot, but is enough to make a difference.

yeah, i was comparing it to gps. no big deal.. i was just curious. im not running msp sized tires anyways lol

clearly haha. idk, I've wondered with cluster swaps if its calculated on your actual mileage board, in the cluster.. but at the end of the day, who really cares anyway? LOL

lol, no, I just stopped buying s*** my car all the time.

Bought a ps3 and gained a second job so the car is on the back burner mod wise.

Finally got my BPV, that only took 3 weeks.

I'll most likly have to weld on a tap on my cold pipe someplace right? I have the nipple that use to go the VC but thats a bit smaller than the BPV size.

Could I use it or will I have to weld?

Try it first... just cinch the coupler/hose down on the nipple with a clamp and give it a shot. If it doesn't work, then you can weld a larger one on.
