Sorry guys, looks like I won't have time to do this. My wife just gave birth to our son 3 weeks early and things have been crazy. There seems to be some other members that replied here that my be able to get the ball rolling for you.

Very good bro-ham. Congrats on the new arrival. Looks like your name is gonna live on!!!

Who else may be able to get this prop kit project on the ball?

Congrats on the new addition to the family. Sorry to hear that you won't be able to get these together. Looks like I am going to try to make a set myself.

same here, can't imagine needin too many materials that i won't find in home depot

I received my materials last night, and made the driver's side bracket out of aluminum. Looks like I am going to be able to make my own kit for about $20-$30 less than they were selling for. I'll post up some pictures when I'm done.

I found a lot of information from reading through the old threads from Dexter and trbomp5. Thanks to both of them for the information and pictures that they provided

Here is what I bought:

(1) 2' x 2" piece of 1/8" aluminum for the brackets from Home Depot (way more than you need but it was the smallest length they had)

(2) 9416K192 GAS SPRING WITH THREADED ENDS, 30 FORCE, 18.62" EXTENDED LENGTH, 8.27" STROKE $12.82 each from www.mcmaster.com

(4) 9416K47 M6 QUICK-RELEASE STEEL SOCKET, FOR 10 MM BALL $4.44 each from www.mcmaster.com

(4) 9512K98 BALL MOUNTING HARDWARE, 304 STAINLESS STEEL 10 MM BALL STUD $4.06 each from www.mcmaster.com

I am still working on the exact measurements for the brackets, I will post that once I have them complete. I also had to drill out the holes on the fender with a 17/64 bit, and re-tap them with a 5/16 tap (if I remember correctly). I will try to post some pictures and a write up on how I did it once it's all done.

cool, thanks for the info, i'll start this project sometime next week :D

i can finally put my tap and die kit to good use

I'm glad you were able to get something together. Yeah the proper thread size in a ball stud is extremely hard to find for the fender. I had the guys who used my kit drill the fender bolt out 1/4" and retap it to 5/16, course thread.
