Looking to buy a Mazda Protege5 in the Central Florida Area...Lower miles, really clean and hasn't been ratted out.

My Honda has bit the dust after 204,400 miles.....

Would prefer manual, but will take automatic if car is in really great shape.

Looking to spend around 8,000 at the max.....

Car will be daily driver, but will also be the car to tinker on for a little fun!

New to the Forum....Nice to be here, this is a great community!

I know you said local in the Central FL area, but you should really check out this one:

Super nice condition, price is more than fair, and only one owner. The place is very legit. I've spoken to the guy a few times when I was looking for a Miata and he's a really nice guy that knows his Mazdas. But I eventually settled for a P5 also. If this were around when I was shopping for a P5, I would've snatched it up in a heartbeat! I was more than game to purchase a one-way plane ticket to TX to pick up a vehicle from him and drive it back to Tallahassee.

Proteges with build date after around Mar 02 had revised tranny components such as carbon steel synchros and beefier shift forks as used in the msp...if your looking for a 5spd.

I will make sure to check that out!! That is one thing I was worried about the P5 was the tranny.......

You could call Mazda USA with the VIN (JM1BJ245821616050) from the vehicle I posted and see if they can find out the production date. As far as I can tell, the one I posted is a '02.5 since it has the newer rims, side blinkers, and open cupholders,

Definately is at least an 02.5 with sidemarker and open cupholders...also the revised tranny components.

I found a silver one here in Delray beach....64,000 around there for 7,991, but it's a automatic. Any body know will it hurt me to go with an Auto?

BTW is a 2003
