i could agree that an auto might lose to a msp, but not the six speed in 2,000 light years
goonsquad said:Light year is a measure of distance, not time. Why would this guy make up a story like this? Go back to the P5 forum and stay the **** out of this one your ******* troll. You are an idiot.

Well I was boosting 12 PSI for months on end. I am at 10 PSI now after the flash and I have yet to get boost cut.14LBS said:hmmm i dunno man your boosting 12..... im boosting 8 and getting fuel cut like a mofo......
LinuxRacr said:Ok, this thread has gotten rediculous. I initially saw this a few days ago, and edited the title so that it may stay in the Mazdaspeed section, but now it has to be moved. I for one totally believe Discreet Speed if it was an automatic. At 12 PSI, the torque is a killer, and it's low down. After riding around in JDM Sam's car the other night, at stock boost levels, I was very surprised about how soon the torque came on when just cruising. I have rode in a RX-8, and I for one know it is not that fast (automatic). I have also seen the picture of the next gen RX-7 with the specs. It should have around 300 HP boosted I belive. That car will be the speed that the RX-8 lacks.
the rx-8 had a manual transmission,pimpprotege69 said:I would believe this story , mazda speed with 12 psi would destroy the rx-8 they were racing from a roll. There is absolutely no down low power with the rx-8. It's like the s2000. The street start on a Rx-8 is something like 7 seconds to 60 , the mazdaspeed would kill it . From a dead stop that might be a different story, even thoe it has no tq either.
I EAT Z3 said:Damn, what a bunch of ball-breakers. It's NOT unreasonable for a Stock speed to stay with a RX-8, let alone a tweaked one. Here's what Car and Driver said about the RX-8
"With the help of an 8000-rpm clutch drop and the engine buzzing like a flock of angry hornets, the RX-8 scooted to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 14.5 seconds at 96 mph. But that performance falls off considerably without a tire-frying launch. In our street-start test from 5 to 60 mph, the RX-8 needed 7.5 seconds1.6 seconds longer than the hard-launch time, which is twice the deficit we found with either of the other cars."
Now C&D also ran a Mazdaspeed to a 15.4 at 90 MPH.
Take a car that runs a 14.5, do a slow roll on without winding that little rotary up to 8000, vs a car that benefits from the roll on, and what do you get? Owned! How many people will launch their RX-8's at 8000 RPM's, NONE. With the extra boost, an even better ass whooping.
