Windshield replacement update

Well I meant to post this a few weeks ago, but I did end up finding a new windshield for $200 installed.... no need for insurance. Just thought I'd FYI ya'll.... tho its a new car, the windshields aren't expensive.

There has been reports of flying rocks you should report it... did it have a tail number or was it part of the granite family

I used a place called windshield repair specialists, I think it took him maybe an hour to do, seemed to go pretty smooth n quick. I did notice something interesting tho, on the original windshield and this one both, the passenger side vertical "shading" on the side is wider than that of the driver's side... anyone else notice that?

We badly need a new windshield as well. I had hoped that, despite it huge size, the flat nature of the glass would help keep the cost down.

About the vertical shading: Huh? I haven't noticed any vertical shading at all.

the vertical shading, is on the far right and left edges of the glass near the A-pillars... black on the edge and black dots as it moves out from the edge... I know we all have it, just know the exact term for the effect.

I have the same thing and it bugs the heck out of me. What is that about?

I meant to ask the service rep last wed when we had it in and forgot.

Mine gets replaced this week. I'll ask the guy to see if he knows why the difference between the two sides.

The Canadian model may need to go back to dealer, because it has the rain sensing material embedded in glass.
