Window Tinting

I just called into a window tinting place in my area to see how much it would cost to tint my P5 and the guy said somewhere around 179. The price seemed way too hight so i was curious to hear what other people with P5's paid to tint their car. THANKS

Tint pricing varies heavily by area where you live and by type. Metallized tint runs more expensive than the regular kind but will last much longer and not fade out. I would recommend the metallized to anyone as it may cost a bit more but will be worth it in the long run. Mine cost $225 for all the windows (except windshield) but I was quoted as high as $350. Around $200 is a good resonable price range for our car. Be careful of anything less than $150 or so, especially if you live in a big city where there are many tinters. There are a few guides on here too if you search that will give you a good list of what to look for in a tinter when you are shopping around.

$250 for metallic 35% all around and 5% on the moonroof and the top of the windshield. The guy is the best in Boston, though so it was worth the money. Go somewhere with a good reputation, it's worth the the extra coin. Removing tint sucks ass and so do hacks that scratch your paint or interior trim.

Also, tip the installer. Many people don't realize how much an extra $20 or so on the side helps as far as the quality of the job.
