Why did the TPMS light come on?

:
2014 CX-5 Touring
A few weeks ago I got new tires installed on our 2014 FWD Touring. I set the pressure all around to factory settings, while cold, and reset the TPMS. About a week later we were out driving around town, and suddenly the TPMS light came on with a loud beep sound. At our next destination I looked around the car, and nothing appeared out of the ordinary. Later that night I checked all the tires at home and they all seemed fine. I checked again the next day when cold, still fine. So I reset the TPMS again. To my knowledge it has not come on since then.

What could have triggered the system?

Gremlins. I've had this happen a few times, as recently as just last week. All 4 tires were exactly where they should be, and after reset the warning has not come back. Go figure...

Same thing happened to me a year or so ago. Just a quirk of the system. Hasn't happened since.
