Who makes the supercharger for the P5

Thought Jackson was making one, but also there is this place in Tawian that makes one

Link
Base Price us dollars was about 4k, upgrded kit was around 5700

There is another place I believe here in the States that made one, but never really sold it.

There's a few one offs, but that's it. Nothing mass available in North America. Stop your whining and go turbo if you want boost. You're better off w/ a turbo anyway. :-)

Oh ya Area 51 was the other one.

But ya turbo better to go with right now, even more when you consider the vast number of options.

Still half-half on it. Would like to just go N/A next year for a small bump in HP and concentrate more on improving the handling dynamics of the car.

i dont want either kool i was just wondering because i saw the Protege5 in this months HCI says its got a supercharger in it.

its got a real ugly paint job, but its got the DGM ram air hood, its in one of the car show sections.

i've heard (heresay, mostly) that paxton makes one for the protegs but i've yet to come across it on the 'net...

Anyone interested in a Whipple?

I have a friend who is actually very close to the company and he is in the process of setting up a meeting with the company and myself. I had been thinking about posting here and seeing if this would be a product anyone would be interested in. Im sure that if I could get enough people commited that the kit could go into at least a low production. I have already talked to him about a one off kit but if I had some more people the cost for everyone could go down and a supercharger could be possible. So if anyone is interested and could possibly commit if the fabbing of the kit on my car does go through let me know, Id love to bring this kit to a mainstream level. -Cheesie

I can already have it made

I already have the connection I want, I would just love to see a surge of 5's with superchargers and calling paxton for a bunch of made to orders isnt what I was thinking. I have word from whipple that with enough people commited that the kit will at least go through a short run in turn bringing down the cost. And I have contacted other companies and none seem to be as willing to commit so Whipple is the way Im gonna go if I do. Thanks for note about paxton though. -Cheesie

Garrett Performance Products makes, or made a supercharger for earlier modles Mazdas. Might be worth hitting them up.

I wish someone would step up to the plate. Apparently Kenne Bell and JR don't want a piece of this untapped market. There is a demand. Maybe not as great as turbo, but it is still there. I'd buy one. I've always liked the "ass on demand" that a supercharger brings.

Aren't they available for the Focus? Hell, even the new Mini-Cooper is sporting a supercharger over a turbo.....hauls ass too :D

Oh yeah, and I agree with the "ass on demand" concept. Insane boost levels might not be there, but hauling off the line with low revs would be nice.

whipple's "twin screw" chargers would be ideal for our cars. The only real issue would be the integrity of out motors. Jackson Racing got themselves in some trouble when their first generation of chargers came out..They were cracking blocks left and right. But keep us updated on the blowers..I would definetly go with one over boost!

I don't need massive amounts of power. I just want to be able to punch it at low speeds/rpm's and go. I've never been much of a speed demon or a drag-strip junkie. Word on the Kenne Bell s/c for the Miata is that it puts out 230 ft/lbs at 2500 rpm's. That right there is ass on demand. :D

There are currently three available for the Focus. Jackson Racing, Vortec, and Black Diamond Racing with a fourth coming eventually by FocusSport. That right there is one of the only reasons I regret trading in my ZX3.

And hell even the PT Cruiser is getting one.
