I've been all Mazda for almost 6 years now... who wants to only buy Mazda from now on? (yippy)

Bearings get spun by lack of oil or excessive heat which is commonly due to lack of oil:

1. Oil pump dead

2. Sliding sideways "El Drifto Style" with the stock oil pan that allowed the oil pick-up to not stay submerged for a second or two

3. Oil leak which caused low or no oil

Well another reason I hate this ******* forum. Asshats who dont even know me think because ive had 2 spun bearings that it is the drivers fault. I change oil regularly and I always drive slow. So yeah. **** YOU ALL!!!!!

Are you retarded or something? No body makes you come onto this forum! If you dislike this forum so much then dont use it. Its as simple as that. I'm sure you dislike this forum so much that you will respond to this with some responce or another.

I agree 100%

WTF (who the F) even mentioned anyone directly anyway? I bet there's probably forums like swordswallowerforums.com or iwearpinkpantiesforum.com that help folks recover from that kind of stress. Wouldn't know, I don't have feelings & I definitely don't stress over e-crap.

Back on topic & to address the OP question....the people who will never buy mazda again would consist of everyone who buys a different brand of vehicle.

...every time for the rest of their lives

I have nothing but praise for my P5. This is my second Mazda and its a great car.

Would I but another Mazda ? Definately. Im planning to get a Mazda 5 soon.

If you look at the stats the Protege brand is a very reliable make. You might get an occasional lemon but the stats show this car to be tops in reliability.
Take good care of your friend and your friend will take good care of you!

Thanks for keeping it contained, guys.

I just had a master cylinder replaced @38000 miles. Kinda early, wouldn't you think?

Personally I will never buy another NEW mazda again.. I have nothing but praise for my old mx3 v6. The reason I bought my P5 was because of the way my mx-3 held up when it was nailed by a tractor trailer... that and how reliable and issue free it was all the way up to the 200k it had on it when it was totaled... Now on the other hand, I have nothing good to say about my P5... yeah its reliable, but the build quality is crap, it gets terrible gas mileage, its rusting, the paint is cheap and its not what I expected based on prior mazda ownership... (mx-3, probe gt, rx-7)

My next vehicle purchase is going to be an Evo... unless I can source out another MX-3 V6... :)
Damn, this was my 1st brand new car ever & I'm 47, at least mine specifically-wife's had 6 or so. You're almost makin me weep (no feelings, can't really weep). So I can't bring myself to actually say it or think it but I think denial is at play due to the car's significance to me. I cannot disagree with your thoughts on this. Don't get me wrong, I dig the car but am apprehensive about some of the shortcomings experienced by others. It's the fragile one balanced out by the brutus crazy truck next to it in the garage so I'll deal with it. I can work on my rides completely so it'll be fine. Sure there's better quality cars out there but they cost much more money too so it's all good.

I'm with ya on the not like they used to thing, my toyota truck is 27 with 400k on it. I've had it for 25 of those years. I'll never give it up.

My car was flawless the first 120k/4 years. My brother got a 6S because he saw how much I liked my car.

I had some convern with the protege leaving me stranded one night (due to the VICS issue, and yeah Mazda service sucks in regards to that.) I was hoping to go a little longer without needing another engine. My mechanic says it's remarkable this engine is still running so smoothly.

Regardless, it's the best car I have owned to date. With the upgraded suspension, this is more fun to drive than my old 240 (more practical too.) And I foresee another Mazda in the future. I'd like to find a cheap used protege to be a daily driver (so I can keep some miles off this one.)

I go 5k with synthetic. I change my own oil, screw letting someone else do it who doesn't care about your car.

only problem i ever had was a bad leak in the trunk but that was caused by a light rear ending. aside from that i got good gas mileage as long as i watched my foot. but i did average a just a little more than my current car.

would i have bought another mazda? i almost got an ms3 but i wanted something that wasnt fwd, i was too big for the miatas and needed something more versatile, the rx8 i liked but wanted more power.
