Which mats to get ?

Aw man, I just cut out that hole... I was thinking about just cutting 3 sides so that it still provides cover, yet I could easily lift it up to pull it.

Duct tape can fix anything :-D

My OEM all-weather mats have been really good for almost 2 years now. Obviously the drivers side is dirty but the cargo mat and the passenger floor mat still look almost new.

I have Weathertechs in CX-5, and I had to modify them to cover the dead pedal much higher. Also, I've glued the wide strip of the similar material to cover the carpet to the right of the gas pedal. It gets dirty there too, quite often. I used good epoxy, and it holds well. If I had to buy the mats again, I'd probably go with Husky, although would add a strip or two here and there.
It's unfortunate that Mazda decided to mount the gas pedal on the floor, the salt brine gets there whatever you do.
