Im a big fan of twm, i think their kit is the best thought out kit. it even has spacers so you dont have to bend the heat shield.

How tall is the B&M compaired to the stock P5 shifter?

Captain KRM P5<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_822906", true); </SCRIPT> I will most likely be getting a B&M through you if the price is still the $95.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say the TWM generation 2 shifter. I've used two TWM shifters and a B&M shifter in various cars, and I love the TWM.

One thing the TWM has over the other two is it doesn't reuse the plastic bushings in the base of the shift lever. It uses ball bearings instead.

But whatever you decide to buy, DEFINITELY GET THE KARTBOY BUSHINGS!

well haven't seen anyone else with the twm but I have it and have for about a year. I am actually getting ready to switch though. Just don't like the feel of it. Others who have driven it like it better compared to stock but I am looking for a smoother shift and the D&M i tried felt better than the TWM. But thats just my opinion.

Yeah I probably should have mentioned.. The TWM is very "clicky" with the Kartboy bushings in. Then again, to me shifter feel is a huge part of the driving experience and I like my shifting to feel really precise.

yes it comes threaded for the stock knob unless specially requested for an mp3 or msp knob.

Well I do have an MP3 so my stock knob is an MP3 knob. Do I need to specially request that?

which one? i think the 03.5's are different im not sure about the 03's however

Yeh what he said the reason a msp knob wouldnt fit on my es is cause the shoulder or whatever for the stock knob was up to high. Its the mp3 that has the diff threads.

i have the 03.5 knob in my 02 protege5. the only protege shifter with a different thread is the mp3 (same as the sport-tronic protege)
