which freakin shifter?!?!

hey guys, i don't think you realize that b&m is the least concerned about customer support. both kart boy and tmw advertise on the board and b&m could care less about us. I think you should have some dignity and support the underdogs here. Tom's service has never been questioned or even considered to be less that up to par. I think that everyone on this forums should buy the kartboy just because of how awesome the guys over there are. I wouldn't even consider the B&M shifter an option if it cost 50 dollars a lever. Trust me guys thats going to probably be their last product ever produced for our car and if protegegaraged does keep lowering prices they may very well knock kartboy out of competition making some over rated chain company number one..

Go kartboy, i got your back.

B&M isnt over ratted they make parts for so many different cars i dont think they can be on every board. My friends car has a b&m and i never drove a car that shifted better. Plus i like the height of the b&m im not gonna buy another shifter that i dont like as much just because there is some1 to talk to about it.

im not seeing that the b&m isnt a great lever, but i think kartboy's support for us is great. i guess im just all about customer service. i think thats number one today. :D

i notice that you have the short shifter and bushings, dont you like kart boy?

I love my Kartboy shifter and bushings, myself. =) Works great, but Tom, if you're still poking your head around here, or anyone who has installed it; I have one of the older shift knobs, and I can't for the life of me get the stupid rubber ring to fit under the snap ring at all! There's just plain not enough room... I've tried four or five times now, to no avail, and have used really good snap ring pliers and everything... Sorry for the threadjack, but was just kinda curious if a) the rubber ring mattered and b) how to get it to fit, either way?

Yeh i got the bushings also the shifter is alright just not for me. I think the throws could be a lil shorter kinda feels just like my friends mp3 shifter just lower.

Laser03pro: Yeah, I can't get the o-ring to fit under the snap ring, where it sits above the little plastic piece that sits atop the pivot ball. I've tried my damndest. =)

Hmm i had no probs with mine you sure the pivot ball and the plastic peice underneath is seated good. Caugh nother reason to buy b&m

Another thing if b&m didnt care would they take the time to write the best install. Just goto bmracing.com and look.

hey captain i will do that today , tell me where to send the paypal or check. I was about to buy it for 109 shipped so this should save me some more. Guess I can put my TWM up for sale. PM me the details captain..you have a PM
not happy with your twm?

man im not trying to get you to justify your actions, i think you understand exactly what im saying... you do what you want, what i said was strictly my oppinion, nothing more nothing less. but it is a fact that out of all three of the short shift companies i have kart boy turn out more products for our cars. TWM has came out with a ball bearing shift lever which none of the other two have came out with. and B&M has came out with another shift lever with the tallest height and shortest through. I guess its just a pesonal preference...

i got the b&m shifter and couldnt be happier. it shift really well, the shifts are
precise , short and the shifter is tighter. feels like im driving a sports car
loks good too, the height is lowered by about an inch
the quality of this shifter is excellent, highly recommended

B&M problems?? huh , where did you get that from?(chair)

they make the best quality shifters out there.... do some research before posting! they've been in the business along time.

i had mine installed at a very well known mazda dealership thats involved with motorsports, it's their prefered choice.

the B&M shifters i played with keep sticking to the left, maybe there is not nuff grease i dunno, quality wise they have no problems, they don't return on the center position, the kartboy i have still has the throws too long

Captain, I like that price on the B&M. Will it be ok with the stock MP3 knob or will I have to find somthing new?

Can someone tell me what shifters do fit the B&M?

mine doesnt do that, it springs right back to the middle. nobody has reported this problem on this or any other protege website. i did a lot of research before i went with this shifter. ive never heard about this one before.(dunno)

if its installed properly then you shoudnt have any problems, but this applies to anything you install in your car.
mine shifts really well(spin)
