Where are the holes for side skirts?!?!?

If you are going to put the skirts on a reg sedan you need to drill for the mounting clips ,I had to do this on my car . I have the Mazda instructions ,if you need them contact me via PM and include your email ,I wll send them to you , It includes the templated to drill the holes .

DiS, just saw your thread. I did the msp conversion as well and had the side skirts put on. There are 14 holes on each side that need to be drilled. 9 on the side and 5 on the bottom. Mazda gives you a a template to use that you have to tape on and stick to the car so you know exactly where to drill. Instead of using the template my body shop used paint to mark the spots. Hope that helps.

thanks for the help, hehe. By the way which body shop did you do it at? I mean install the side skirts. Also how much did they charge ya for instalation of them? I dont feel like drilling holes in the sides of my car on my own, haha.

I went to Classic Auto Body in Paterson. They charged me about 300 for the install. They didn't even used the templates as shown in the instructions. All they did was paint the tabs on the side skirts and while the paint was still wet, they lined up the skirts and press it against the car. Then when they pulled the skirts off, the wet paint showed them where exactly they had to drill. Didn't even think of trying that myself. Some tricks of trade I guess. I looked at the instructions and template and said there was no way that I was going to try it myself. Oh well.

Installing the side skirts is really simple, if you can drill holes, you can put them on. I did mine after they came back from the shop painted and they went on without a hitch. Just put one side up on stands at a time and lay the template out. Drill the holes, install the clips, slide on, and put the clips in the inner fender. and BAM! youre done.

im definetly gonna do this install sooner or later.....most likely later as saving for bewst, hehe.

I too have the sideskirts as well as the rear. I hate drilling holes in a perfectly good automobile, so I am going to see if I can't attached everything along the sides using some 3M doublesided automotive tape. My only concern doing this is if there is enough surface area for the tape to provide grip for since it can only be placed where the supports are for the fasteners (I know when it is used for rub strips it is placed along the entire length). I will be using the screws at either end of the skirt in the wheel wells. It's going to be a couple of months before I can do this (I'm overseas right now), if I can make it work I will post on here.
