Wheel & Tire Options

I've been looking for a tire and wheel combo that weight either the same or less than oem. I didn't see it posted but for the MSP6 the Potenza RE050A tire weights in at 24lbs per Tire Rack.

RE050A

There's a guy on Mazda 6 Club . com that put a set on his MS6. I'm guessing it is the same as the Mazda6 because he didn't mention having to get hubcentric rings.

I want to buy new wheels for my 6 and I want to go 18x9 33mm offset can I do that or is not recomended. Thanks

I just read through your thread, I was looking at 18x8.5 Rota SVN's...now I'm thinking that won't work, even with the rear fenders rolled...

don't forget tire sizing is very important. If you want 265s on there, good luck. But if you want something like 235 or even 245s, you should be ok after rolling. Unfortunately, I have to say you SHOULD be ok because it's not a guarantee on that - tires rated the same size might fit differently - have a different tread width or tire width - they might be more rounded or square when viewed front-to-back. All of those things play a factor in "if it fits or not"

If you go with 235/40/18s, +45mm, and a roll - I would say you can do that. It really depends on how much you are looking for and how much you want to push the envelope.

6 club has a really good thread with member wheels and wheel/tire specs (along with suspension thrown in there) so you can see what works for the most part.

265s are a pretty beefy tire for those, i was thinking 245s should work. I'll head over and look at their thread and see what I can learn. Looking at Advan Neovas with the wheels.

For a winter set I was looking at this for my '06 Mazdaspeed 6:

Enkei CDR9 - Silver - 17" x 7" - 40 - 5/114.3 & 5/100
215/50R17 XL Bridgestone Blizzak WS-60

Will this rub or will there be any other issues? After reading the first post it seems like this would work but I'd like a second opinion.

I am a complete noob for modding but could someone explain to me what rolling fenders are? I can guess what rubbing is but i cannot figure out what rolling fenders are. I just want to make sure when i find my after market wheels they go on and run very smoothly.

I need a simple answer. Does the 225/45/18 Potenzas RE760 fit on the original mazdaspeed 6 rims without a rubbing problem? I heard the best for this tires. 156$ per tire online. 340 Treadware. Thank you.

I don't think the stock offset on the MS6 rims is 60.

You can find the offset on the back side of one of the spokes when you take the wheels off. I just had mine off 2 days ago and I'm about 98% sure it was either 55 or 50.

Taken from this page;

OEM 18" wheels (Mazdaspeed6)
Tires: 215/45ZR18
Wheels: Mazda OEM 18x7+60mm 5x114.3 23.5lbs

Just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I looked at my wheels.

The stock 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 rims are 100% for sure 18x7 +55 offset

It's not just 'some markings', 18x7 55 is the size marking built into the wheel. If you try to measure without the right tools, chances are it's not going to be accurate.

I know this post is older' but i just got a mazda 6 wagon'

going to put 20s on it'

most ofthe 20s wheels i see are 20x8'

My question is what 'mm' should i be looking for to best fit the car?
Iam going to go with the smallest tires toyo proxy 4 225-35-20

any help? thanx
