Wheel & Tire Options

Well, according to this thread, I should have problems with 235s on the stock rim, but I'm not. I say find a tire shop that guarantees they will change them out if they do begin to rub, like my shop, and give it a go.

Still no answer.....??? Oh well....I got them anyway, I guess will find out in about a month.

You should be fine if they are on the stock rim. I have a set of 225/45/18 on my stock rims and had 3 guys in the back so the wheel was inside the wheel well and it didn't rub at all the whole way down to Chicago.

I was hoping you would take it upon yourself to read the first post since all the info is there...including the size and offset of all stock rims.

Towards the top:
Mazda OEM 18x7+60mm 5x114.3 23.5lbs

Further down it says:
7 inch wheel with up to 225 tires: 42-60mm offset

Since the OEM rim has a 60mm offset you should be fine. I've had 225s on 8" rims and had slight rubbing with a 2" drop but you should be fine with the stock 7" rims.

Hey guys please excuse my ignorance on this. But I have an aftermarket rim thats 18x7 5X4.5/5X120. Right now it has 245Z40R18 tires on them. Will our factory tires fit on this rim?? When I look at my MS6 factory wheels they seem less wider than my aftermarket rim. Like i said please excuse my ignorance if this is a dumb question.

The MS6 rim is 18x7. Are you sure those aftermarket ones are 18x7? 245 is pretty wide for a 7" rim.

just wondering if i will rub. im looking at getting an 18x8 50mm offset. i will be putting on 225/45s and dropping it with the h&r springs. from my calculations i think ill be fine but just wondering some others opinions.

i'm going from the stock 18x7 60mm to 18x7.5 48mm. i've already put 225/45's on. the wheel calc says the outer position extends 18mm, so i'm assuming the wheel sticks out 18mm more? any problems with this wheel setup, especially if i were to drop the car about 1" all around...i didn't think they're would be but i always find it best to ask. can't be too sure.

Your on the edge, but the numbers I put up on the first post came from tallying threads on this site and other sites to see what people were running. I wouldn't have put 18x7.5+48+225 on the list if I didn't get at least one or two people who said they weren't rubbing.

I have a quick question. I'm puting mazda 6 front brakes on my protege but I want to use a 15x7 rim. will 15's fit on a 6 or dose it hit the caliper.

You'll be rubbing real bad, if you can get the wheel on.

I don't care about rubbing. the 6 and protege are two different cars. a 15x7 rim with a 45 offset and 225/50/15 tire won't rub on a protege but I just need to know if i can get that rim to fit over a 6 caliper and rotor. I don't like big rims. the MSP and 6 use the same hubs. I appreciate the input though.

As you can see from the 1st post, no Mazda6 comes with 15" wheels. The smallest size is 16". You should search the Mazda 6 Club . com website to see if anyone has run 15"s before. Otherwise, you should assume they won't fit over the calipers.
