'04 6s hatch...are the specs that much different compared to the speed6?

Honestly? I don't know.... I do know that my GF's 05 6s hatch has some aftermarket wheels (not sure of the offset but they're not that low because they don't stick out) and she rubbed with her 225 tires, I had to roll the rear fenders.

what wheels does she have on it?

With an offset like that you need to worry about the calipers as well, you don't want your rims hitting that while you're driving. What kind of car? I know I've heard of SOME running a +38 offset on the Speed6.

im running 18x8 +35 with 224/40/18 lowered on megans. It fits fine with a fender roll.

I don't know, came with the car when she got it used.... they're g-force or something like that. I can't remember. I also recently found out she has spacers when I took off one of her wheels to change her brakes. (spank)

If I wanted to get some new rims and wanted to keep them running on my stock tires would I need to get a set of 18x7 +45 offset? Or would a bigger size such as an 18x7 or 18x8 work with these tires?

Stock tires will fit on an 18x8 rim but they might appear a little stretched...and the edge of your rim might be exposed a little more...ie, watch out for curbs!

Yeah I am very conscience about curves as it is with the stockers on there.. Just wondering because I wanna either paint my stock rims or buy new ones and just use the stock tires since they are already 18''s

Im going to be purchasing new tires soon. Ive decided I either want Goodyear Eagle Gt's, Goodyear Eagle F1's, or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus. I cant decide on a size for any of the tires but i know I want to go as wide as possible without rubbing now or when I drop. I currently am on stock suspension and wheels, but plan on dropping with H and R sports very soon. Any recommendations for tires out of those three? And sizes?

You can go as wide as 235 but only if the offset on your wheels is close to stock. To be on the safe side, stick with 225s. You can do 225/45R18 or 225/40R18. Each manufacturer is a little different so check the dimensions carefully.

What he said.... if you're going to be running the STOCK wheels you can do the 235. But if you're doing aftermarket an they are not stock spec you may risk the chance of rubbing... unless you're ok with rolling your fenders.

right now I'm running the stock tires on 235/40/18. I don't rub but there is just a mere difference of millimeters from the fender to the tire itself.

I plan to get some 18x8 aftermarket wheels with my tax return next year, so I'm already planning to roll my fenders, otherwise stock on 18x8 would definitely rub with 235 tires.

To recap stock tires: 235/40/18 (I can't comment on 235/45/18)
Aftermarket tires without rolling fenders: stick with 225 width.

thanks i went with Eagle GT's 225/40/18.. Ill be dropping with H and R's soon, hopefully wont have to roll

With the 225s you'll be fine and shouldn't have to roll unless you've made any modifications to the wheels like spacers etc.

Also keep in mind that since you went from 45 to 40 your speedometer is going to be SLIGHTLY off, so when you're doing 60 you'll actually be doing closer to 58.2 (dunno)

Thanks for the info... maybe itll maybe that will help me stay a little bit closer to the speed limit than I usually am (lol2)
