Wheel Hop?

This is my wifes car, I used to own an 02 SER Spec-V it had bad wheel hop. (I know what it is) This thing sounds like it is blowing the axles out when it does it. Is this how all the 3's are? If so does anyone make aftermarket MM for them yet?

look for AWR motor mount, which replaces the rear engine mount.

my wheel hop is so bad when i powershifted second onec it threw my radar detector off the windshield !! i will be getting the mount from protege garage very soon !!

I've had the AWR mount for over a month now. It does help, but definitely doesn't eliminate the severe wheel hop this car has.

Agreed. I have had mine on for about 8 months. Wheel hop was reduced but not eliminated. It will add a considerable amount of vibration to the car. Mine vibes pretty bad when I use the AC which also kicks on in any defrost mode.

Since this is your wife's car, you may wish to get the inserts for the stock MM from Corksport as opposed to the motormount from AWR. This is an in between fix that will provide some of the same benefits as the AWR but without some of the NVH that the AWR owners experience.

I'm unclear about what is wheel hop and what is potentially something even worse. I know that I'm experiencing wheel hop when I floor on wet pavement and it feels like you're going over a bunch of ruts. But what is it that sounds like someone taking a baseball bat to your floor pan?

Actually, owner(s) of the CS inserts report the same vibrations during launches that the AWR has.... I thought that was rather odd.

I have almost no vibrations with my AWR mount..

only when I turn on the AC can I feel a slight vibration.
