Whats gross weight on the 6i MTX?

I'm about to go look at those two cars and the dealer says its an MTX but I want to make sure hes not gonna try to hustle me. If there is a different way to tell then let me know. I need to make sure its an MTX and not an ATX.
 
you need to tell over the phone or in person?
 
I am going to look at the car and I want to be able to look on the car and make sure its a MTX.


6i MTX with light mods is faster then a 6s ATX with no mods, and is grippier in the turns (300 lbs less weight).


This is true? What kind of light mods will do this?
 
um well look to see if its a MTX how would you not be able to tell it will have a clutch and it wont say P, R, N, D, next to the shifter
 
Intake...maybe springs(cornering) and a loose nut behind the wheel.
 
oh and making the 6i mtx faster than a 6s atx wouldnt take much just simple bolt ons and a good driver you know one that can tell the diff between a MTX and ATX just by looking lol im just playing with you but the driver would have a huge part to do with in that race
 
my bad, i thought there was a difference in the engines...mtx and atx is referring to the trannies and the mtx might be a little faster or lighter because it doesnt have the weight from the tranny? Thats funny though, this guy must really want to sell a car. So an automatic 6i is really pretty slow then huh?
 
an ATX 6i isnt all that slow I still spank hondas in mine. the reason the MTX is faster is because of less drivetrain loss
 
atx uses too much power to put it down to the fground...and gearing is totally difrent. turbo a atx and if you thought 1st gear was already short....;) but yeah the atx also heats up quicker and thats not good for gains neither. I can run the civics and that one guy whu tried me with a geo metro so I'm still happy.
 
Da 6....you have a lapis blue atx 6i? or 6s? btw - how do you like it. My only concern is that I have a 2.8 liter engine v6 on my car right now so I hope the 4 wont be too slow. Im going to test drive it tomorrow. If im satisfied with the lapis blue 6i ill prolly take it over the red 6s b/c i really like that blue. good stuff.
 
I have a lapis blue 6i and I love mine especially after the injen CAI and eibach springs

oh ya I cam out of an escape with the 3.0V6
 
vvt makes a difrence...remember 4 cyls lack tq especially when attached to a atx....a powerful v6 and v8 can afford to loose a lil low end with the atx more than a 4 cyl. I gotta say once it hits 3 it pulls a lill more than vvt it pulls more and changes tones. I usually downshift and feather the gas till it gets to 4 and punch it to pass. The car really stands up and responds to that but...heat is still a factor on the tranny (boom01) . but rush hour(s) traffic is fun when I don't have to shift. that was my only main factor in not getting the mtx. It's not worth it in the city of D fockin C.

Cool, I guess the test drive will tell. Thanks for the input guys. Do either of you have tint on your windows? I have yet to see what it looks like with tint. If I buy this the only things I would want to do to it is tint (maybe), rims, clear taillights, and if im not happy with the speed....maybe a few little mods.
 
go find me on cardomain I use the same name my windows are tinted like around a 35% right now but I am going to have it redone to about 15%
 
I have clear tails but on the internet they look like s***....find a 6 in your area with them on a car...in person before you order a set off ebay for $30-$40 under dealership prices. if you want a package get it stock or it will cost more later. only thing that doesn't aply to is the wing....I got a wing painted and installed cheaper than the factory wing would have costed alone. everything else will cost more. If you want the integrated fogs order them. sport grille order it with. lip kit or sport bumpers and wing order it with. 17's order with. chrome apearance package order with. don't get the lower grille trim off ebay. it doesn't stick on the grile for anything. I had mine for like a month and one day on a "Spirited Drive" it flew off the front and cleared 3 cars behind me before hitting the ground and repeadedly ran over.(argh)

I know a few people to include myself at one point had made custom shift boots. so basicly if the cluster says prndm and has no clutch pedal then you can tell
 
Ya I know....thanks. I just misunderstood what he said. I test drove the 4 cylinder today and got a pretty nice offer (19K) and he said they would put in the sunroof for free on a 2004 atx lapis blue 6i with 8500 mi on it (it has leather too). The blue one also came with an 8 yr 100000 mile warrenty. I also tested the loaded 03 atx red 6s with 7500 miles on it. That dealer wouldnt budge on his price of $19,995 but i definately liked the 6 cylinder wayy better. I prolly would have bought the metallic redfire one if the salesman wasnt a douchebag. I guess im gonna wait it out till I see something I want. I need a 6 cylinder.
