What you don't like about your MP5

Well if you wash your car on a level surface & have the moon roof deflector water lays in the corners.

I have to use my Shop Vac in blower mode to get all the water out of the grills

Paint seems rather thin, chips easy

Engine rattle when cold

Cd Player seems to skip allot

Roof Rack noise @ Highway speeds

No lighted switch for the fog lights, they need a indicator light or something

Well for this price you can't have it all, but the P5 IMHO is about as good as it gets. Things I don't like, hmm....

-Weak stock radio
-useless armrest
-no variable intermittent wipers
-maybe slightly better MPG's
-a few more HP wouldn't hurt but I'm pretty satisfied

That's about it, all minor things, I had to really stretch for these. Overall this is really a fantastic vehicle. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

The only thing i really don't like about my P5 is that it is too slow, But with the airbags there is no need to go fast anyway. Going 15 mph hitting switches is the way to ride.

Yes i have pics, I posted one already. I have more pics of the car in different positions but i don't want to put so many different posts, do you know how i can put more than 1 pic on a post? Let me know so i an post more pics. If not let me know if it would be bad if i put like 10 posts with 1 pic each. I'm new to this so i don't know if thats annoying to people or what. Thanx

Ditto on all that has been said.

I always remove the sunroof deflector (along with the bra, etc.) prior to washing. It only takes a few minutes and "pooled" water is murder on paint.

1. Wind noise.
2. Cup holders suck.
3. Looks to me like the front wheels don't have enough offset to bring them to the edge of the fender. They look recessed into the fenderwell. The backs are OK.
4. Cold engine rattle.

I can live with most of the little things already mentioned, but I hate the roof rack noise, and even more than that, the placement of the lock buttons on the doors - When you get comfortable, you lock yourself in!

Don

I hate that there's only one power lock button. I have a silly pet peeve about people unocking the door manually when there are power locks on the car, but I'm not always quick enough to unlock the doors before them. Wish there was at least one more power lock button on the passenger side so that he/she can use it while I'm still parking, etc.

just one power lock?

same here same here, I just lost to 3 of my passengers today, they were just too darn quick... have to train my reflex a little

(1) I gotta agree with Don. The door lock position is the worst. Not to bring up a sore subject but my Civic's door lock was located up by the door hanle itself. Out of the way and doesn't bite into your arm when you put your arm on the edge of the door.

(2) The wind noise is a hassle but another car I had came with a roof rack, too. It made more noise than my P5.

(3) I have to agree with Motor Trend that it could really benefit from another 20-50 Hp. (I'm leaning towards 50-60 Hp)

Don't get me wrong. These are minor issues. Som can be corrected, others can't. The good far outways the bad. Wouldn't trade my MP5 except for pehaps a turbo charged or supercharged MP5*??!!!!(Are you listening Mazda???) :D

*I wouldn't trade it for anything else in my price-range. A Viper, a S-2000, olr the new RX-8 might be a nice addition to anyone's garage.

I don't like the placement of the powerlock button. It's akward and hard to press.

I don't like the cup holders either. It's pretty good for large paper coffee cups, and I never had a problem with it because I only drank coffee during the winter, but one hot day recently, I put a can of coke, I step on the gas a bit hard, and bam, coke's all over my work and seats and pants and, well, everywhere. I liked the VW cupholders.

I don't particularly like the seat fabric either. The black is nice, but I don't like those little dark blue patterns. It's tacky. I'd prefer it all black, or perforated black cloth for a sporty look.

I hate the crappy fake carbonfibre trim. That's so lame!!!

The thoughtfulness of Mazda putting in adjustable height on their seats are nice, but it's not adjustable enough for me :) Ah, I'm picky, but, you asked for it! :D

Well, that's all about it, it's all relatively easy to withstand when compared to all teh problems I had with my VW Beetle *shudders*

OMG, can't believe I forgot the ultimate worst part of the P5...

THE AUTO SHIFT KNOB IS SO DAMN UGLY!!! It's so freakin' tall and skinny and, well, generally ugly! Mazda took steps to ensure everything about the car is nice and sporty, except this POS! It looks like it came outta a Corolla ! *shudders*. I wish we could have a semi-auto like a BMW. Everytime I ride my dad's 323ci I wish I had the same autoshifter as his does! Sooo comfortable, so nice, sooo perfect.
