I'd email the guy and ask if it was from an awd car, my guess is it's from a 323gtx (awd turbo). I'm gonna try to get a set of pistons from one of these eventually, the car's compression ratio is 7.5:1 :-D

I was planning to swap one in my Mx-3 If I kept it.. everyone else did it..

either 1.6T or 1.8T....very tough little motors. from what I understand they are very boostable and the platform for the current miata motor.

Trouble is.. The 323 GT and GT-X 88-89 had beefier rod than that 1.8L engine..

And, it is not suppose to be compression of 7.5:1, but 7.9:1. Also, bore and stroke is not the same for our 2L engine.. But those with 1.8L are the same engine, except higher compression, and no turbo..
