Considering we have no pics or anything who knows? And really if you're gonna put 15k on the engine then you put a real garrett turbo.
$450 is probably with a healthy markup for giving you someone to complain to if and when the turbo fails. Ball bearing is definitely better, but you get what you pay for.
The original turbo as part of the $15k build may have bit the dust and he replaced it with a cheap journal (same thing as wet-float) bearing to sell the car. If he didn't tell the OP, it is definitely shady, but makes sense.
I think the first thing the OP needs to do is read everything he can about tuning a Microtech. Then get the software, make sure the wideband and boost can be logged and get to work. Paying someone might seem like a good idea, but if he is not serious about keeping the car, it is just money down the drain.

Guys I will post pics of the car as soon as I make it home. Like I had said I am gone on military training. Guys the guy did have a better turbo that went to s*** on him, I guess he just went with a cheap one to replace the one that he had becuase he was going to get rid of it. Also the man that sold it me went through a bad divorce and had s*** to live on. He needed money, did not really want to buy it since he was selling it so cheap but he was a soldier also that just got out of the military when I bought the car from him. The fact the he had all the paper work of the work that has been done to the car when really a good thing, their are alot of people that tend to tell you that they have done this and that to their car and have no paper trial to show for it. I guess I just got lucky and I feel bad for the dude and becuase I have been in his place. Well like I said I will post pics of the car and the paper work as soon as I can. Can you all tell me how I can post pics? What would be the easy way to do it?

There is not 15K there... The stock manifolds are still there..
The turbo can not be larger than GT28

LSD 1.6K (But I doubt it's a Quaife so +0K )

It is a fantastic start and a good deal.

Yeah I've gone through everything on his website before but I don't remember seeing anything about the dedicated oil pump.
I really think the OP needs to scan in these receipts so we can review them. Then we can compare them to the pictures, but yeah doesn't look like 15k under that hood.
Well at least you can turn you phone to the side. I don't see a MAF either, but it could be hidden somewhere on the intake which I can't see either.
Or since he has a microtech, he doesn't technically need it other than keeping the PCM from throwing a CEL. The options for a parallel setup are pretty much unlimited. He's going to have to find someone who really knows what he is doing.

I really don't see how the OP got screwed on anything.....providing he didn't spend an unreasonable amount on the car. Worst case he spenk $6-7K on it and got a bunch of fictional receipts and a few goodies tucked in the car. The original owner.....now if he took the car to a shop and spent $15k+ and got that back, HE may have gotten screwed.
