What have you done to your P5 today?

HK, I have that bushing set from ES and have had not a single bit of clunk or sound from them...been going on a year now...

The fronts are a b****. The hardest thing is getting a socket to them and actually being able to turn it. I tried to do it on jackstands but it was impossible. Luckily, I have roadracing friends with bitchin tools and a lift at the track.

Nice, that's what I was considering doing a few days ago but it's not worth the hassle and risk of ruining a perfectly good motor.

Boost or no boost, it'll die eventually

Why not enjoy it while ya got it? Had I kept mine, i'da boosted it

I still want to turbo Callie's but she won't let me. . . . .

just remember, Callie can't watch it all the time...

one night I'm going out to Amy's GC Laredo and putting a 4" lift with 33" tires on it

started it, let it idle for about 30 secs and the idle was all over the place, probably due to this p0171 that i have
idk where the **** these vac leaks come from but they are annoying

i ordered a new intake mani gasket and a new tb gasket, as soon as those are ready im gonna attempt to drive my car down to pick them up and put my stock IM back in

all these problems came from the ******* 626 mani, i hate that thing
so if anybody wants one feel free to pm me, cuz im getting rid of it ASAP

Y not just figure out the vac leak and keep the mani? It's supposed to provide good gains. Did you already go back over all your vac lines and everything? Get some soapy water and watch for bubbles.

well not recently i didnt, but i made a boost leak tester, found several large leaks, fixed them
and now this..after thinking about it, it might be my egr or pcv valve stuck open
it just came up out of the blue, how does that happen?
hmm..i really dont feel like working on my car, damit

Lol, you have a boosted FS-DE, that's how it happened. ;)

Did the egr tube not fit back up right? Do you run the 626 egr, protege egr? You try running a corrugated egr tube?

What PVC do u have? stock or millenia?

stock pcv, egr is deleted...sorta
what i did was weld it shut at the exhaust mani and then just cut the tube and leave it open at the intake mani
so instead of taking in exhaust and nasty stuff it takes in fresh air...i did it that way so i dont get a CEL from unplugging the egr completely

Well, wouldn't that cause a vacuum leak since you're pulling fresh air into the TB, especially without a filter?

And I know what you mean. I did the VTCS removal on my IM and vacuum leaks are such a PITA. I tightened the s*** out of my intake mani bolts, TB bolts and EGR bolts and it idles nice and smooth again. The soapy water trick doesn't work on vacuum, Steve. I heard if you spray carb cleaner it will suck it in but I still couldn't find any leaks. I'd suggest just wrenching all those bolts down really tight and see if that helps. Try not to get too frustrated, you'll figure it out, mate.
