Simon, the problems you have had with this turbo, along with Greg and Ivan make me more and more realize why I do not want one...lol...
Well, wouldn't that cause a vacuum leak since you're pulling fresh air into the TB, especially without a filter?

And I know what you mean. I did the VTCS removal on my IM and vacuum leaks are such a PITA. I tightened the s*** out of my intake mani bolts, TB bolts and EGR bolts and it idles nice and smooth again. The soapy water trick doesn't work on vacuum, Steve. I heard if you spray carb cleaner it will suck it in but I still couldn't find any leaks. I'd suggest just wrenching all those bolts down really tight and see if that helps. Try not to get too frustrated, you'll figure it out, mate.
Ahhh, gotcha. I thought soapy water was for air leaks, for like tires and air coming out, not pulling in. How would you be able to tell if there is a vacuum leak with soapy water? I'm not being a smartass, I'm just curious as I might give it a try to see if I have any more leaking vacuum lines.
Ok getting ready to go outside to do the front sway bushings...
Boost or no boost, it'll die eventually
Why not enjoy it while ya got it? Had I kept mine, i'da boosted it
I still want to turbo Callie's but she won't let me. . . . .
YOU'RE WRONG.
jk. yeah, a vac leak will still bubble lol
so we'll see you sometime around 10pm your time? haha yeah, those are a pain on any car to do especially with older cars
Thank you for your informative post, good sir. I hope you have a pleasant day. Thank you.
