What have you done to your P5 today?

But overall the bushing was easier than expected. The way I did it was with no sockets. only wrenches. Its the only way to go. Including jacking up the car and what not it only took me 45 min.

edit. Im going to make a How to.

SOOO AWESOME!.. need write up!

I know everyone said it was going to be hard. I was dreading it all morning till I got under the car and took the bolts out...then I was like...."wait it wasnt supposed to be this easy..lol"

so i was thinking about getting a CAI, and with so much space from the stock intake the way it is, i think i could get some piping somewhere and just route it that way so that it gets the colder air running under the car there and not in the wheel well (such a pita to change/service)

oh and i thought about washing the car, and saw that mother nature will take care of it for me in a few days

well there is still noise coming from the front....doing the sway bushings narrowed it down to the steering bushings....=(

Almost sold her on the drive home....

....while stopped at a red light with the windows down, a guy in a Tahoe rolls up and stops and puts his window down. He says, 'nice car you wanna sell it?' I lol'd and said 'nah I like it too much.' He then asked 'how much do they go for' and I told him 'he could pick one up for around 5k'....he looked at me funny. That's when I told him 'it was an 02'...his mouth dropped and he said 'wow, it's in nice condition' (wonder what his reaction would have been if I told him I have over 131k on the odometer). lol He then said 'he would look them up online as he was looking for a car for his daughter' wished me a good day and then the light turned green.

8yrs old, still turning heads and the ability to make some people think it's a new car. I <3 my P5 and just goes to show that Mazda nailed it with a timeless design.

^^

I had something similar like that but was pumping gas when a guy randomly walked up and started asking about it and looking at it closely saying how nice it is, etc, etc, and then he asked how much you want for it... :| wasn't really thinking of selling it at the time so I said 8K (CAD) and he was good with it until he found out it was a 2003 lol!

I'm having an estimate performed on the P5 next week. Turns out I have a small amount of collision coverage that will pay for this (minus deductible of course).

I'm thinking I should get AT LEAST $600 because no aftermarket company makes our front bumper (I spent hours looking) not to mention the color of my car. The local Mazda dealer wants $250 for the bumper and a local shop quoted me $300 to paint it. Hopefully if I get enough money paid out I can get an MSP lip too.

installed the j-spec tails today, just waiting on my new rims from the ups man any second now.

when i was quoted for a new bumper cover for my car with paint and 3 clear coats it only came out to just under $600. the mazda dealershit is the same price about for the bumper as i was quoted (they were going to get it through them), so yeah paint would have been near $350. They did the last bumper on my car but they also did the fender, headlight, turnsignal, color matched the hood, other fender, majority of the roof, and passenger door. all with fresh clear. that all came out to about $3200. thank god i had that girls INS info and a police report to follow it up

P0171 code popped today. My wideband is done because the connecting harness between the sensor and gauge got melted by the engine so i can't tell when I'm going lean or not. Time for a new wideband.

Also have a terrible clunk now coming from somewhere. Car is getting put up on stands tomorrow to check it out.

Also about to put some FD wheels up for sale tomorrow as well. Not gonna end up using them this summer and I need the cash for my wideband. Oh well.

EDIT FD wheels now up for sale/trade in the FS section.

Nice.

I have been clunk hunting for a few weeks now getting ready for the new autox season. lol

Here are some places you should check

Endlinks
sway bar bushings
steering bushings
struts

Did you ever put on those FD rims? I finally go a set of my own since you have been missing. lol

Good job dude. I could barely get only one of them myself on jackstands, then took it to the lift. Maybe I was having a hand fart...

Yea tomorrow or Saturday the car will go up so i can figure out what it is. I think it's the bad DIY endlinks I made that don't fit right. I'm about to just get stock ones again. I wish I had a chance to put those FD wheels on but I don't have the time nor the money for the new tires and probably BC coils for them.

Oh does anyone have their stock rear endlinks they have sitting around that they wanna get rid of? I can get new ones on ebay for 30 shipped but I figured I'd ask here before going that route. Have to be from a P5.
