What have you done to your P5 today?

Very nice Taylor! My Samsung is green though

And, my car has an S2000 anteneea on the top, that count? lol

I wants an S2000 quite badly!!! Mugen or spoon import would be nice

NOICE! That's awesome. I was actually really hoping that the lazer blue- like S2k color was made for the AP1s, but alas it was not. Oh well, may be time for a black or white car next ;)

Go white....you already have a black car.

Today I rolled over 107k on the way to work.

What the code your getting?
p0171 system too lean (bank 1)
p0455 Evap emission control system leak (large)

this the other day...
p0140 02 sensor CKT no activity (bank 1 sensor 2)...pending

today
p0455....pending

after checking under the hood and messing with what i believe is the pvc or pcv valve thing on the valve cover and and messing with the sensor to the CAI i got in the car and drove for a bit, turned it off, and turned it on again and...tada... good bye cell. i think i need new gaskets for those two things.

Sounds like P0171 "Bank 1 System too Lean". Trust me, I know this code VERY well. This is a common problem over with the MSP guys. Check for any exhaust leaks before the primary O2 sensor (ie header/head connection) and check for any vacuum leaks after the MAF. The causes for this CEL are limitless ranging for bad sparkplugs to a dirty MAF too dirty injectors to a vacuum leak. I'm actually waiting for mine to come back on here shortly.

Don't worry about the lean, it is prob just coming on because the evap. The lean code always throws for me when another code come up.
see above
But the evap is either a loose gas tank or a loose vacuum line or it just came off. I would check the gas cap then check all of the vacuum lines in the engine to see if any or loose or came off.
see above

thanks guys for all your help. i will keep an eye on this stuff.

on another note i just got an msp heat shield, manifold and turbo in today. already had the j-pipe from the pro5 sitting around and connected. got some pics of the turbo and was wondering if i should be concerned with this oil on the inside of the turbo by the flange.

nah, mine had that too, on the first start up it should burn off and u'll be good
when i painted mine i put it in the oven and it burned for a good 10 minutes until it stopped

EDIT: oh and if ur using the stock oil lines, looks like you are, your going to need the msp crank girdle, or our going to need to tap your stock one if u want to use the stock oil drain
most people just take an aftermarket one and drain to the oil pan

whats that??(boom03) i am not sure what i am going to be using. i just bought the turbo, turbo manifold and s pipe from another forum member and they just got here today. every thing else looks fine including the turbo. it seems to spin fine with no play

callaway????...is that the company that makes the stock msp header and stuff?

and shane...you are talking about the turbo right??

its the part that goes underneath the crankshaft and it supplies the oil to the crank pretty much, they sell it on PG, the reason u need it is because the stock protege crank girdles dont have the hole for where the stock oil drain hooks up
i see in the pic that u have the coolant lines, the gold metal tubes, but i cant really tell if u have the oil lines, jut go with a braided steel oil drain, u can use the stock oil feed but i think its rubber or silicone and braided would be the better way to go

yes callaway makes all the stock MSP turbo components

is this the oil what your turbo looks like?
MAM_install_2526.jpg

the part with the silver heat wrap on it is the stock oil drain, if u take off your stock exhaust parts, or header idk what u have, ull see that there is nowhere for that to hook up to

Working on installing an Infinity Basslink. Any suggestions for where to run the power wire thru the firewall?

so braided it is!!! gotcha and thanks!!!!!
call me stupid but do you mean this thing that is poking out on the p5 header and the space in the msp that needs something to be screwed in. the last is the whole mani, turbo, s-pipe, and j-pipe section. i should just get all those those three line braided to connect huh?

no..the oil is not all over the header just by the turbo all collected and sh!t

ok so from the looks of it, the dude u bought the turbo from just straight cut the oil drain hose lol so your going to have to have a stainless,
and im not sure what you were asking about the p5 header and the msp but thats the egr that screws onto the p5 header lol a turbo is actually a really easy concept once u get how it works and were everything goes

edit: saw your response and thats good that u dont have oil and stuff all over your turbo, just tighten the oil lines maybe add some thread locker and you'll be set

Just took my car to get detailed at a local shop. Kid was a year older than me but had at least 5 years experience and he did a great job. I'm very impressed. He gave me a FULL bottle of high quality spray wax straight from his own supply and also gave me some swirl remover. The whole job and everything only cost me $50. Needless to say, I'll be going back there again. I will take pictures when I buy a new camera.
