What have you done to your P5 today?

haha I wish. it's not really in the budget, plus I think I'm moving to Montreal either the end of this year or the end of 2009. So I would have to sell it then anyway. Sure would be nice to upgrade to a white ms3 though! I'd have to change my name to whitems3seattle!

Thanks Tylor! Maybe one day my car's carma will be resurrected in your wife's p5! I was about to do the rear valence thing this weekend too! shucks...

Correction, whitems3MONTREAL....Or just get your punk ass back to seattle :D The 30 degree cold with heavy rain misses you and I know you miss that wonderful I-5 driving in the pouring ass rain...

I miss being stuck in I-5 traffic...oh wait, no I don't (scratch) lol

I still miss Seattle anyway (spin)

Dropped off the Wagner header at the machine shop to have the EGR bung cleaned up. Dru (wife) said I couldn't put it on her P5 until the car's warranty expired (it did, in December) and that I couldn't put it on if it was going to throw CEL's every 6 weeks like it did on my car!

This should take care of it. My hope is to put the header and intake on the car this week while she's out of town, then see how long it takes her to notice I've done it! :D

hmmmm a header on a N/A, my guess is that she'll figure it out, immediately...

Just got a call from the shop, they did the work, but also noticed some cracks in the welds by the cat flange.... Damnit! I thought I was one of the few relatively lucky ones. Now I'm going to have to pay for the machining of the EGR tube, and I may not be able to use the header anyway. grrrrrr

not really. The stock manifold is kinda junk, so it's better than nothing.

But yeah, other than that it's pointless :p

Well, I'm wasting my whole day running back and forth to the machine shop, but I guess we'll be good to go after this! I'll be spending about $50 all told.

The welds were cracked at the collector, badly enough to see light through! Here's a quick image of what cracked:

Any more cracking, and the little diamond-shaped bit in the middle might have fallen into the cat.

As for whether or not the header does anything, I thought it did when I had it on the LX, and it's the only one legal for STS. Also, I'm going to be going back to Northern VA, and we have emissions inspections there, so keeping the cats is a good idea. ...and no, it didn't make much noise.

FINALLY got a new windshield! $200. Blah.

Next the door dents come out then a rear sway... Then a MS3 at the end of the year if all goes well.

$200? What? Insurance didn't cover it? Shoot, I break my windshield and insurance sends a guy out to me and he shows up with a box of steaks. DOesn't cost me a dollar

Depends on the company you use. The first time my Jeep windshield broke, I didn't get steaks. But, I used a diff. company the second time and I got steaks.

Put in new oem front strut bearings. Would have said replaced but there was no strut bearings to replace lol. They were completly non-existing. While doing that i noticed my sls motor mount bracket was cracked all the way through. Ordered the new and improved steel bracket. To bad the shipping cost more than the part itself. And cuz the side mount broke now the front sls mount bushing is coming out. Might have to replace that one too but this time im going with awr. The only good news is now my car doesnt clunk when i turn the wheels and the rear awr mount still looks brand new along with the street^^^^ driver side mount.

Street^^^^? Ahem.......

Their crew was in full force this weekend at the Classic Mazda Pre-Sebring event

Since the forum's auto-grudge-holding software will no longer allow "street" and "unit" to be used together, I propose that people henceforth refer to the unmentionable shop as "Street Eunuch."

It will get by the software, it sounds close enough that we all know what we're talking about (not that we didn't know anyway) and it's sufficiently insulting to make the grudge-holders happy, I hope. If not, I'll get "instigating drama" points for this! ;)
