What have you done to your P5 today?

yeah, what Kansei said. Some people swear by it... My car was running just fine before it, so i didn't notice a major difference. If for nothing else, it's kinda fun to watch all this white smoke (essentially steam) pour out of your exhaust (although your neighbors won't be too thrilled about it).

I always go to the wetlands when I do seafoam. My whole campus is on wetlands so I just find a parking lot in a secluded area in the middle of nowhere in the woods (i.e. the freshman dorm parking lot that's like a 20 minute walk from the dorms) and do it there. My roommate's volvo was near 200k miles when it had it's first seafoam treatment.. that thing shot out SOOOO much steam that we were sure someone must have alerted the EPA.

Put the MSP wheels back on ... and the 18's on the MSP where I know they'll be safe (from the wife curbing them >.<) until I decide which set of 18's to sell ...

Reference shot ... of warmer days this past Summer (It's getting down to freaking 27 tonight! People are going crazy!)

AHHHHHHHHH!!! Head into Phoenix! On a side note, I passed Avondale Mazda off the 10 around 3 am on my way to Tejas for Xmas. Nice looking dealership ...

We found an old GMC S-15 or whatever, same as the S-10, but we got it for $200 and we were just gonna tear it up at the mud hole anyways but it was running rough, so we sea-foamed it and that thing blew out so much black smoke we couldnt see the house next door lol, took a day atleast for the smoke to completely stop but after that it ran smooth and idled fine, got the lost power back...then 5 days later blew it up muddin lol.

Yesterday I cleaned out the interior and then followed FunkyColdG down to Delaware for the go-kart meet. Had a blast and got to meet some cool people and some very nice Mazda's!

Just got back from dropping her off at the mechanics for inspection/emission testing tomorrow. Miss her already. :(

does anyone know what kind of paint is good for painting the front strut bar? the stock p5 one? i want it to match my car so i am gonna paint it, but what kind to use?

You can actually buy/trade for a Protege MP3 brace, their brace was vivid yellow :)

Anyone with an MSP want to trade braces for my P5 one? I don't want the red, would rather silver :)

will the mp3 fit? if so i'll trade someone!!!!!! but if i cant trade what paint? does it really matter? spray paint? idk?

From The Man's FAQ: http://www.protegefaq.net/

My dealer got my tower bar all scratched up, what can I do to make it not such an eye sore?
Short of repainting the whole bar (which will cost some money and a body shop to order paint), you can talk your dealer's parts department into giving you a free bottle of touch up paint. The tower bars are painted the same colors found on the Proteg 5, so things will be a lot easier at least. The MP3's tower bar is painted in Vivid Yellow. The color code is HZ. The Proteg 5's tower bar is painted in Classic Red. The color code is A3E. The MazdaSpeed Proteg's tower bar is painted in Sunlight Silver Metalic. The color code is 22V.

Sucks? I was just trying to hook you up with the paint codes. (ughdance)

Trading may be easier. However, consider that these cars are all 4+ years old and a pristine bar will be hard to come by. Factor in shipping (unless it's local) - probably your best bet is to get the paint code you want in a rattle can and have at it ...

so would just need a spraypaint can w/ that code or do I need to go to the dealer? thanks for the codes, that helps a lot so i dont get an off yellow

i hated the red of my strut bar, so i sandblasted it and painted it anodized blue (to match some other under-hood accessories) and it turned out quite well. i used the duplicolor rattle cans. buuuuut, since my under-hood theme has changed slightly, i'll be repainting it to match the powdercoated valve cover :) (ps, don't mind the absolutely FILTHY engine bay... i really need to get that cleaned up after all the goodies are installed this spring)
