What have you done to your P5 today?

Today I think I killed a few layers of skin by touching my shift knob. Damn you solid ball of copper with chrome plating! Other than that the ride was peachy, minus the traffic... :(

It really needs to stop raining though. I washed my car on Sunday and it's already really dirtay.

iPod sock ftw.. mine was fine driving last night in the subartic cold...

Lisa, thanks for reminding me. I wanted to thank you SO MUCH for that! That thing is absolutely perfect! We're starting to get sub freezing temps in ATL now (really early, actually....maybe we'll have a winter this year, and not the Summer => Fall => more Fall => Spring that it did last year), and in the mornings that metal knob is COLD! And the sock works great :D

HA! A winter in Georgia...that's funny. C'mon now. Really. If anything, global warming is going to increase your temps. Anyone else follow it? I've read many reports. The consensus is that by the year 2025 the northeast will be in steady temps much like that of the Carolinas.

I wonder if they'd fit snugly on my greddy knob, I'll have to give it a go. I have a winter knob for just such a situation, but I missed my greddy knob too much so I put it back on already haha.

I can send you one.. i had to buy a pack of 6... and only need 1..

what size ipod are yours for? I have an ipod mini one somewhere.

I'm just going to put my winter shift knob back on eventually :P I only put the greddy back on because I love the way it looks.. a iSock would sorta cover it up and stuff :P

Installed my DaveB gauge rings...of the polished variety! What a great upgrade for the interior. Now let's see how long it is before the wifey notices. lol

How much were they? I want some sooooo bad!

I paid $40 shipped from another member. To my knowledge he doesn't make these anymore so the only way to get them is to buy them used. Happy hunting (it has taken me quite awhile to get them). They are usually sold within minutes of the f/s thread being posted.

I think ProtegeGarage sells replica type gauge rings.

I have original DaveB polished rings as well. Funny part of the story is that I actually had them in my posession before I even got my Protege5 :P. Had them with me when I went to the dealership the week after buying the car to pick it up.

I think I got them for like $23 dollars shipped too. I've seen them sell for over 75 dollars on here used, hence why MAM and others made replicas.

^^^Thanks for mentioning the other alternatives....

Yeah, I have seen them go for some pretty crazy figures also, especially considering what they were new. But they are pretty rare, so you pay for that exclusivity. Will try and get some pics tonight, so anxious to see them with the lights on!

before.. during... after..

Thanks for the pics....I am sure the night ones look so much better in person though. Why did you take out the whole cluster? I was able to do it with the plugs still in! :P j/k of course.
