What have you done to your P5 today?

obviously you have never driven on a highway in any decent sized florida city. if you think you can use a CC in any decent sized city here...well then you are the retarded one... Jacksonville is half as bad as Orlando and I never have a chance to use it here. maybe the deserted strips btwn the cities yea. but down to Sebring going through Orlando and all...not gonna happen, not to mention the fact that the old farts don't know how to drive so if you set the CC 5 sec later you have to turn it off and slam on brakes

I reset the ECU and it still has the CEL, and the CC button wasn't on when I removed it. What did you do with the 2 vaccume lines going into the intake manifold? I removed them and put caps on the pegs. Also what did you do with the one sensor that was plugged into the CC and the two sensors plugged into the bracket?? Mine are just hanging there right now. What should I do???
Ah I see now. You only should have disconnected one of those sensors. I'm not sure what the other two are but you definitely want to leave those in. Here's a pic of how I have everything setup, its not the best but...

I guess my timing of traffic was good when I drove from Orlando to Coco Beach. I didn't have any traffic issues but it was in October.

anytime i drive here i always have to brake every 5 seconds cuz some old lady pulls out in front of me. they dont think they have to look b4 changing lanes. it's crazy. gainesville is worse for city driving since there are like 50k college students w/ in a 5 mile radius. crazy!!! :)

Drove from Warren, OH to Ann Arbor, MI yesterday. One tank, up and back...total of 435 miles on a tank...with intermittent a/c usage.

Hmm ok, so you just disconnected the sensor to the CC an left the other two plugged into the bracket. I already tried plugging those ones back in and I still had the CEL, but I will try it again and see what happens. What did you do with the two vaccume lines connected to the bottum and the top of the intake manifold.

what do yall put the used oil to get it out of the oil pan? what kinda bottle? any?

I got this thing from an Autozone, it has a grille on the top where the oil drains in so if your plug falls in it catches it. It has a drain on the end of it so you can unscrew the cap and empty it out into whatever you want, or take the whole thing into the store and they can drain it to be recycled.

I got my battery in and tested to see if my gauges and junk work... they do! They are all different colors though lol. At least they work (2thumbs) Also the Microtech seems to be showing good lights, so hopefully that works. I need to bleed the brakes, get some more coolant, and put the IC pipes on. Then it is judgement day... see if the beast cranks!

Whats up everyone. new 02 p5 owner here ... been readin around these forums to get some ideas lately.

Yesterday I installed a 10" alpine type R sub with a jl 500.1 to power it... just finished fine tuning it today and it sounds sick (next up is door speakers and then a head unit).

One thing that bothered me when I got the car was the wind noise (more of a whistling/windy noise) coming from the roof rack (REALLY loud at 45-50mph). Someone on the forums here suggested that maybe if you turned around the roof rack it might sound quieter (because of the air diffuser thing or whatever its called, that is located on one side of it).

No one tried this fix for some reason so I didn't know for sure if it worked but today I removed the front roof rack crossbar and turned it around (I noticed that the back crossbar's diffuser was faced forward and the front crossbar was faced backwards).

Well, it worked! I drove the car 50-60mph and all I could hear was a very reasonable whooshing noise, no more loud whistling!

One other thing that I noticed when taking off the crossbars was that the rear one, which mind you was facing the correct direction, actually had an 'R' and an 'L' stamped into the metal denoting which side was which while the front crossbar had none. Maybe this is an explanation of why some people experience the wind noise while others don't? Assuming they used real people to bolt down the crossbars, it's possible that they were not aware that there was a correct front and back to the crossbars and messed a lot of em up.

heh, crazy theory but it makes sense

I have a slightly difference vacuum setup because of the turbo so what I did might not apply to you. I had a T in the vacuum line so I just removed the T and the line going to the CC. Actually, looking back at some old pics, I see that the single vacuum line output at the top of the IM went to the CC so I would have only removed that line and capped the nipple. I don't know what the other line is that you are talking about.

Yeah I've used milk jugs. But if you have the thing like mine, you can just put the lid on it and take it there, just tell them you want your container back.
