What have you done to your P5 today?

I am not sure. I got the Synchromax pictured above. I am not sure what the difference is, probably just different weights. But what you got should work fine. Some people mix several different kinds of gear oils and transmission fluids.

i found out my p5 is leaking oil this morning....yay!! more problems!!

this is not a good month for my protege

i got the gear max because it had the 75W-90 on it. so i guess i'm just using that. if it's not ok someone let me know, i'll be doing it tomorrow.

does gear oil=transmission fluid? or at least manual transmission fluid?

this is what it says about the synchromax:

Synchromax is recommended for manual transmissions that specify an automatic transmission fluid or motor oil.

so i am just gonna use the gear oil. i talked to a friend and he said i got the right stuff. so it's goin in tomorrow hopefully.

Bought some sparkplug nonfoulers, got an O2 bung welded into the CS exhaust - getting ready for the big instal day (for me) tomorrow. If all goes well I'll have the exhaust in, the alarm in, the radio surround out and painted and the gauge surround out and painted. Sould be fun (screwy)

in response to the questions/comments - yes, it is the clutch i'm sorry i didn't do 2 years ago (ACT is soooooooooo much better than the horrid stock one) and no problem on the heads up for the rear mount install. the how to is found in the How-To section, iirc; just do a search for rear mount install and you should pull up 2 or 3 different threads on the topic.

installed some toggle switches to control various stuff spidered into my power block...

Installed the CS exhaust today - boy was that a chore. It took me about two hours of tweaking until I could get it so the tip didn't touch the rear bumper cover. It still isn't centered but at least its on and everything is working. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try to fix it because the exhaust it too hot from driving around. Man this thing sounds amazing though!

On another note, does anyone know where I could find a 3M connector? Its a little plastic thing that lets me splice in another wire. I need it to install the alarm system and I can't find it anywhere. I've checked all auto parts stores, Radio Shack, etc. Someone suggested a car audio place, does that seem right?

Yeah car audio places might have them.

If you don't mind waiting, you can get it from partsexpress.com

Put the header back on today. Went for a bit of a drive. For some reason the noise doesn't seem quite as loud..........Maybe it's because of the new louder stereo so I don't notice it as much (thumb) . I was wondering if the header back on would add more vibrations with the SLS front mount but, it really didn't add much at all. Still have the get the front end fixed after the woodchuck incident. I have been out of town and haven't taken care of it yet. Think I might try and get the MSP lip on when I get it fixed. I haven't been using my fogs anyway since one is really busted up now.........

^^^ LOL, yeah I checked Radioshack which I was sure they would have them. They had some kind of connector but it had an input for a "run wire" and then the connector. Now I'm not electrical expert so I hae no idea what a "run wire" is. I had thought maybe I could splice into the wire and use the extra space for the wire I was adding but I wasn't sure enough and didn't want to fry anything.

Yeah I realize that now, thanks for the help. So tomorrow's agenda is: straighten exhaust and install alarm (hopefully).
