What have you done to your P5 today?

I think I put too much when I filled it, I'm going to check it this weekend. If I haven't lost any freon I think I'll take it to a garage and them them empty it and fill it properly.

EDIT: At idle, how cold does the air get for you guys?
 
Lewis, the red P5 in my sig I sadly sold a year ago mainly bc of rust issues. a week ago I bought a midnite blue one I am working on.

A/c issues sounds like you need freon. Dont use those cheap small cans they sell @ aut stores in the long wrong it will fuk ur ac system up.

You mean R134a. They haven't used freon in cars for 15 years or so.
 
I just got the sweetest plan (if i had a $$ tree in the backyard) i would like to do the klze swap, build the motor, and turbo it then drop it in and finish the job. How much would that put out w about 20lb of boost?

around 300's? more w a tune?

Sorry, if I scrolled down I would've seen his updated post of #117 with 545whp. Oh my heavens. But of course, that's a fully built bonified build. Not just a "slap a turbo on and turn up the boost" set up. Seems like most cats run around 8psi and get around 300whp. Not too shabby. :)

Around here when people say "Freon" they're generally talking about R134a. They could also be referring to R12a, which is an environmentally R12/R134a replacement. It's quite confusing...

Anyway, I checked the low-side pressure at idle with one of those dummy gauges (blue=low, green=good, yellow=warning, red=overcharged) and the needle was at the top of the yellow section, bordering on red. So like I suspected it's overcharged, but at least it's not leaking!

I'll let out a little pressure this weekend and see what happens.
 
Still working on my custom cluster still waiting for my led's to show up got the guages all cleared up today no more red...well some spot's (rei) Gonna be trying something totally diff on the speedo and tach

My 2nd P5 was delivered last night. Midnight blue 02, tokico blues, ebay Injen clone, new HKS Hiper exhaust, 5 speed. Clean car, one rust hole in the rear pass fender. Hit in the pass side and needs a fender and a door. A- pillar tweaked, and I need to check the suspension, because the wheel seems to be toe'd a bit odd on that side too.

2 salvage P5's for me yay! (My 03.5 was totalled a few years ago and rebuilt for 50 bucks :D )

wash and waxed.....woohoo to the cleaner wax and than that nifty meguires finishing wax......it looks nice for a lil bit....all cept the front bumper

^ sweet! I'm super excited. However, I'm a little worried about the drop. Sometimes the Eibach kits can leave your car slightly LA dropped (tad higher in the front). Well this kit do that?

Picked up all my parts from the paint shop. So yummy!

2nd round of parts will be going into paint soon. I filled 91 octane last nite to clean out the crap in the engine, seems to be idling a bit better as well. will be flushing the brake fluid and cooling system over the weekend.
 
They break trans too. They have the same intenals as we do, but they also have a problem with breaking cases so they use a thing called a trans saver as well as the mx3 lower mount. Dan had a full par dogbox. That car has now been parted out. The new thing with the kls are twincharged setups.

Yup. I didn't say it was a good idea, but he asked how much whp he would have with ZE and 20lbs of boost and a built motor.

95blkprobe, I know the P5's tranny internals will work in the KL tranny's and the difference is just the bell housing (basically). I heard that you can swap the bell housings on the tranny's without having to swap internals. Any truth to that? I think my tranny for my KL is shot and would like to swap in my old P5 tranny but internals scare me.
