What have you done to your MSP today?

Car did it again yesterday....drove around fine all day then stopped by the store to get something, came back out and wouldnt start. Just the clicking of the ignition. Acted like the battery was dead. Had jumper cables and jumped it and it started right up. Got home and parked it....

Now, today i go out to it and try to start it and it fires right up, zero hesitation.

I thought maybe starter but it seems electrical. When it didnt want to start yesterday the turbo timer was lit but not displaying anything and the headunit wouldnt turn on. So i pulled the TT last night and everything worked fine today. So I dont know if it was the TT or maybe it's the alarm brain because the alarm has become overly sensitive recently for whatever reason.

Just need to get the S2000 sold quick and make it to the beginning of the year till we pick up a 2013 MS3.

Check the cam or crank position sensors. If one has gone bad, it might cut power to the starter and coil packs. Just an idea...

Will do, but it acts more like an electrical gremlin. Hence the TT acting funny and the Head unit not turning on. Stuff was just beaing weird.

Going to go have the battery tested tomorrow just in case.

my car did something similar and it was the safety switch on the clutch. You can just take a piece of wire and jump the connection to test it.

So my car died on me 30sec after I started it, as it was shutting down the temp gauge went all the way to high. It didnt make any kind of weird noises as it died and there was no evidence of any fluids leaking anywhere on the ground. I was 25miles away so I had to get it towed home. The battery is fine, it cranks fine but the car wont start at all. As soon as I put the key on start the temp gauge goes all the way up even though the car is completely cooled off. I checked all the fluids and everything is good, I thought maybe a fuel issue but I dont see how that would affect the fuel gauge? The water and oil pumps are not even a year old. Fuel pump is original though. Could it be a bad temp sensor? I dont think that would prevent the car from starting however. Im kind of at a loss here. Any idea where I should start?

There is also no CEL.

Jaleik you have blown a fuse. 10A I want to say, but I could be wrong. located in ur car on the driverside under the dash.

Check the engine fuse in the drivers side kick panel. That happened to me when I first installed my 505 I had my flex egr line too close to the egr wires and it melted them. Causing the fuse to pop

I don't know why but a r spec genesis is looking pretty appealing in the next few years(waiting for them to drop in price some more)... might end up ditching the msp for it. I love the power of the v6 and it gets about the same mileage as my msp if driven reasonable. However the v8 in the rspec is looking pretty good(430hp) as well.. I looked at other hyundai's while I was in the dealership(making sure all tsb's ect was done on my gen) and the build quality is pretty good.

Cough cough queer cough cough

the msp will be destroyed today......I ment deconstructed lol

its about time you come out of the closest. I was afraid of you starting to find presents. In all seriousness tough.. im starting to want a car thats more grown up and not so much boy ricer err racer. lol

Of course it was something so stupid, I checked all the big fuses but not the damn 10a one in the kickpanel. I have to say I was up for over 20hours at the time and may not have been thinking clearly. I only had a 15a on hand though, any danger in running with that until I replace it? Anyways thanks guys, saved me a headache.

yeah, over load the wiring or other electronic bits. Chances are nothing but then again something caused it to go out in the first place. Personally I wouldn't unless that was my only option.

borrow one of the other 10A fuses, our are they also necessary to run the car?

I would sacrifice another 10A fuse before putting a 15A in a 10A slot (there has to be an interior lights or accessory fuse or something you can 'borrow'), but realistically if a 10A fuse is blowing a 15A will probably blow before major damage is caused also. So, not recommended, but its highly unlikely it would cause problem.
