What have you done to your MSP today?

Likewise sir, you've got a great MSP! I hear Cres may be making a mid ohio trip next year. Bit of a drive but can't miss the opportunity to meet him and see all these great cars squealin tires again. 3 hours to just watch at toledo but it was worth it. Maybe I can get mine on the course next time :)

Looks like September 16th is the next Toledo event with NWOR, I am going to attend and run my Hoosiers or BFG-R'1 and Enkei's........Come on out and run at this event, I am sure the others will be out as well! Cres is coming out to next years event and will be staying in a cabin.

In the calendar! I'll see about getting the msp in good running condition

4-point ladder bar would save you about 20ish lbs, not sure if the trailing arms are lighter but the bushings are stiffer.

Yeah, the dollar:performance just isn't there for the chassis bracing and related stuff. They may make a small change, but with coilovers in 8kf, 10kr I don't see a couple braces, or some trailing arms helping me all that much.

Does anyone know what the power and torque rating is for the Exedy Stage 1 clutch?

I pulled this from their website not too helpful but eh,

Exedy Stage 1 clutch is great for the customer looking for a very smooth engaging clutch that is going to drive similar to the OEM unit but capable to handle moderate levels of modifications. This is a great option for the “street driver”.

yeah, i saw that and emailed them but so far no response. To be fair it hasn't been very long.

from speedcircuit it says this,

This clutch holds almost 40% more horsepower and torque than the stock Mazdaspeed clutch and is suitable for all but the most exacting applications.

My clutch is roughly 1 year old and today it slipped in 3rd gear in the upper rpms. I thougth the tires spun but soon smelt a burnt smell for about 20 sec going down the highway. I was dogging it up hte on ramp a littl when it happened. So im curious as to what power specs of this clutch is. It drives and acts fine. According to crossovers site its rated for soemthign liek 270trq but i don't believe that.

Thats about 220 at the wheels so sounds close.

Well thats good and yet daunting to know. Good that im putting down that kind of power but yet daughting to know will need to be replacing the clutch so soon. I haven't looked but will I need a new surface for my fidanza flywheel when getting a new clutch?

Edit: ok it looks like you can buy the friction place for about 80 bucks

You should be good... usually with puck clutches that get real chattery when thin like my Exedy stage 2 right now. Replacing with a Competition Stage 5 4 puck tomorrow. Should be an interesting difference in feel with something thaty can handle over 600tq at the fly vs 340

Jordan told me about your motor Joey. That sucks dude. He told me he doesnt wanna sell the motor because the car would be practically useless to him, but if we went in together on it and I could snag the transmission and a few other parts I think he'd sell.
