Tried the Scrubbing Bubbles engine detail that I read about on a BMW forum. Sprayed down the engine and bay and let it work for 15 minutes. Then I rinsed the stuff off with my pressure washer. Used a leaf blower to dry everything. My engine was not filthy but it had been sometime since I last pressure washed it. Pretty impressive results and smells nice too. Afterwards I pressure washed the car and vaccuumed the interior.

Nope, not yet.. haven't even received the pope manifold yet. Ill order the a tail 38mm v-band ewg in a few months when i have extra money. The car should be paid off in july so ill more then likely get it then and install the exhaust manifold. That is if I have it by then.

my AEM truboost gauge started flashing ErP and the light meter flashes also, thought maybe the solenoid went bad so i by passed the solenoid and routed the WGA to my main vacuum line... would anyother brand solenoid work, are they all essentially universal?

I finally figured out my P0171, I have a vac leak at the TB gasket. I also put my MSP on the alignment rack and got it all in spec. I can't wait to spend some money on parts.
I can run the VIN at work to check out the Customer Pay and Warranty history of the Black MSP if you want Monday when i'm at work. It only takes a minute and will tell you the production date, the port it was shipped to, the dealer it was shipped and sold at and all service history done at a dealer.
You can replace the switch for the blower control to fix that light. The dealer will tell you to replace the whole unit but you can buy just the switch for about $40 and the problem won't come back. I replace those switches about 3x a week in 3's and the Protege has the same part.

Scrubbing bubbles with bleach was a secret I was told about 10 years ago at a car show, it works wonders with grimy painted surfaces in the engine bay.

Rolled through the 40k mile mark and maintenance benchmarks to get done. Had the coolant system flushed, oil changed, cleaned the K&N air filter, rotated tires, wash/detail and vacuumed interior.
The scrubbing bubbles for the engine bay is a great tip for cleaning but S100 Total Cycle Cleaner is a must try.

Scrubbing Bubbles is less than $3, not so for S100. Every motorcycle owner that I do work for always seems to have an S100 kit. A chemist on the BMW site reviewed the MSDS sheet and indicated that it had nothing in it that would be harmful and deemed it safe to use. Works on carpets, seats, trim too.
