What have you done to your MSP today?

lol I agree...I tried an ebay BOV just so I could get the kit installed but knew that it was likely it would be a POS, so I quickly bought a TurboXS after a couple weeks of that thing haha

My BOV that came with the CXRacing kit is okay... And doesn't sound bad either. Of course, I had to open it as far as it would possibly go, but any boost below 3.5psi I still get that horrible noise...

The only reason the AFC wont connect with your laptop is if you are missing the driver software for the USB-Serial cord, or if its not actually getting powered up by the car.
The car has to be key on engine off to make any changes, but you should still be able to connect with the engine on too.
I bought it here in the FS section and he included a USB-Serial cord with it. The cord doesn't have any brand markings on it, how would I get drivers for it? I am pretty sure the AFC is powering up, the car was running with it installed even though the MAF voltage was too high under more than 1/2 throttle. Does it make any noise when it's on because I swear I heard a faint noise the first time I turned the key.

I just drove the car and its still hitting fuel cut with any kind of throttle. Could the map cause this or is it a bad AFC? I'm ready to yank this POS out
I knew it wasn't because of the crimp connections. Now I'm really pissed because I have a hacked up ECU harness, a car that barely runs, and im out over $300. Not to mention all the time wasted. I really hope I can make this ******* thing work

You are the one person I've ever seen have issues with the ssafc. You need to get the cable working and reload the tune

Sorry for not replying to the pm you sent, but got wind that you were calling me out on the issue soo im jumping right into this.

The unit i bought off another member from this board.
It was installed for a total of five hours and run for maybe 2-3 hours at most while on the dyno. My tuner and I did everything we could to get pass the fuel cut at 3psi but didnt happen. That is when we decided to go with the AEM FIC. Which so far looks like its going to work in my favor.

As the post above mentioned and i told you in a private message IT IS A SMART IDEA TO INSTALL THE DRIVERS AND RESET OR REINSTALL THE TUNE BEFORE EVEN RUNNING YOUR CAR.

That being said. The two links that i sent you via pm for the split second library has about 30 different maps that you can install. Please before running around and claiming that the unit is faulty please start from the begining and reinstall the base map, which is available on the link, and then go from there.

The usb cable is a generic usb to serial connector. but keep in mind you need to run a laptop that is running windows xp or lower. I went out and bought a specific computer just for that a 2004 Dell computer. Works great. I was able to read the SSAFC and mess around with the map.

Soo i dont know what to tell you man. You might have to pony up and go to a computer store and get a Usb to serial port cable that comes with the disc if you can not download it. I threw it in because i didnt need it with the FIC. Its valued at about 20$ sooo do a little research and check the computer your using. Then when your done that please with all do respect look at the links i sent you and resinstall the base map OR whatever map compliments your mods that you have done with your car. I Stated most of this in the PMs. AS WELL IM REALLY HOPING WHEN YOU INSTALLED THE SSAFC that you reset the ecu. In case you do not know how to do this..... You grab the negative and postive terminal unattached to the battery and hold it for at least 5-10 seconds. IF you have a second set of hands get them to press the brake pedal 3 times. This will reset your factory ECU trims.

As for SSAFC not working most of the time. 90% of people go with the SSAFC to begining with and it meets there needs. Its the simplest things that will cause the unit to "not run properly"

Sorry your having bad luck with the unit and your car. But start from the begining and eliminate problems. Youtube also offers great videos on how to solder. Might be worth a gander.

Any more problems feel free to email me flipproductionz@hotmail.com its attached directly to my phone soo ill be able to reply quickly. Unfortunately i do not have internet at my work place during the day.

Im sorry if this sounds stand-offish but reputation and credit are important to me and i stand behind what i sell. Because unlike you IVE BEEN SCREWED BEFORE SOO I DONT DO IT TO OTHERS.

Oh and for further proof that i tried everything to make it work with my setup please visit HKPRO SUPERCHARGER Thread. I posted questions and answers when i was actually on the dyno. I actually called Cres in Hawaii to figure it out.

It's supposed to be 'reset' which I thought would mean it had the super stock map. Yes I have an innovate WB.

So it had a fuel cut problem when you had it on your car and you didn't mention that to me or in your FS thread? Where do I get drivers for this serial-USB cord?

Are you saying that no matter what map is loaded on it the car will hit fuel cut at 3psi? That sounds like its defective and doesnt work at all.

No... it is based on flash memory which will not "reset" until overwritten.

What AFRs are you getting?

Was the car running perfectly before you installed the tuner?

I would recommend sourcing a new USB to serial that comes with a driver... just to save the hassle.

Yes the car was running as perfect as the stock tune can be. AFRS are normal, the car won't even go into boost unless I ease on the gas so it's hard to get a reading. I guess I have to buy another cable, seems like I should be able to make this one work if it worked before. The CEL thrown meant the MAF voltage was too high so it's a problem with the MAF signal.

What AFRS are you getting in boost when the car is crapping out? also buy a new cable and get the stock super map loaded on there for sure. If it still does not work after all of this I would contact the seller.

didnt you buy a knock off?

yeah i got a godspeed sqv...... just sent the guy an email about it, and have now money right now so i had too buy another crap one just so i have one for now till i have some money to get a turboxs or hks or somthing that i can aford and doesnt break the bank to much....

I have been told the drivers should be for the device not the cable, so I need drivers from split second. When I connected it to the laptop it recognized a device but couldn't locate drivers for it.

What I don't understand is if it caused fuel cut on flipottowa's car then it must be a bad unit.

Actually, it is the cable you need a driver for and not the AFC. I used to have one and I had a belkin cable that only worked once I downloaded the driver from belkin's website.

As the seller said, I dont think your computer is setup for this.
