What have you done to your MSP today?

Got my hub centric rings in the mail today. I ordered some metal ones so they don't break as opposed to my plastic one's... though when I opened it I found plastic one's. After a minute of thinking WTF and verifying that I did indeed order metal rings, I called up discount tire direct and they said they will mail out the metal ones asap as an extra set. I really don't want to drive without them any longer so I'll probably throw the plastic one's on, then keep the metals for when they break again.
 
looks like mine before i got the miata wheels (that ones got a smaller FMIC tho)... fog deletes out and everything! haha

putting them in this week though, when i install nk2a's bumper sag fix.
his is actually pretty big, it's I think around the size of the (edit) MAM one, unless you have one of those that takes up the whole front crash bar thing, but like I said, the guy previously owned it put the damn fmic off center, so some of it is off on the right side behind the bumper.. one day when I have enough time I will remount it properly but not not, and the fmic bottom is low enough to mount to the bolts where the bumper usually goes into under the car, but ya, it's a work in progress, and when my brother actually gets the money to get new fog delete inserts, (found them online for the cheapest at $40, so not really needed right now)

Alright, had some downtime, so I went out to the car to crank it and troubleshoot some more.
Battery was dead.
Pulled it out, threw it on the charger for an hour, then slapped it back in.
Cranked the car and it idled PERFECT. Let it warm up, took it on a mile drive, and everything was great.
Came back, waited an hour, started it up, it was hard to start. Checked the battery, and it had 170cca, basically its discharged.
So, what its coming to seem is its a voltage supply issue. After I started it the 2nd time, I held the throttle open a little bit and let it warm back up, and let the alternator do its work. After about a minute @ 2,200rpms I let off the throttle and BAM... perfect idle, acceleration, no MAF codes, etc.

Speedaddiction20... check your battery.

hmm, that would make sense, since it had been sitting there for a week while I was fixing some things, I will do that, thanks, my charger is like 10 years old so I will just hook it up over night and see what happens in the morning, thanks for the info. I will let you know how it goes.

^^ ya nvm I was trying to think of which one I remember reading about, I was actually thinking about the MAM one, I had a feeling that the turbo life one was huge, just couldn't remember the one that I was really thinking about

oh, and im gonna buy the 06 STI lip next week as well since its only $70 and fits! unless i find a JDP replica somewhere before then for around the same price...
 
speaking of jdp......i picked up the fiberglass stuff to fix my jdp lip aka scratchnsniffs opossum killer. hopefully will have it on early next week
 
I did just a little work on the MSP today. I:
removed the FMIC, and plumbed up the stock stuff

swapped the catless midpipe back to the stock one

reinstalled the trunk trim from when I had the cage in there

swapped back to the stock shift knob from my snap on one

removed the HIDs... P.S. Stock style bulbs are $10 each... what the ****?

searched madly for the stock gauge cluster bezel... I can't find it, so the boost gauge and bezel go with the car... oh well.

All of this took me from 4:30 when I left work until now when I finally sat down to cook dinner.

Tomorrow after work it gets traded. Only mods: boost gauge/mount, turbo timer, and AEM filter (forgot the stock air box at my rents.), and the tint on the tails, spool front springs, exedy clutch, and AWR rear mount and side inserts.

Car has taken me a long way, but its time to move on. I get to bring the new ride to my last day at my current job, and then I move on from there as well.

(as you may expect, I'll be putting more parts up for sale shortly.. thanks to those of you who have purchased things from me recently. when you see what you've helped me to purchase, you'll give yourselves a pat on the back)

I do NOT miss the stock turkey... lol sounds like s***.

Well when I picked up the car the interior had been swapped for beige seats with brown plastics, so with the help of Discospeed I purchased the factory seat covers and had them installed today. Probably the happiest I've been about stock parts, lol
Now all I need to complete my interior is the Mazdaspeed front door sills and black seat belts and latches.

Aite. I need a passenger mirror. anyone got an extra one they would be willing to part with? getting confused with the ebay listings cause some are saying 4 spkr or 6 spkr ect.

I can get A mirror but am i gonna have problems if it isnt an explicit mazdaspeed one, as in for some retarded reason the tweater is part of the mirror assembly...?
would it be frowned upon to get the ricey aftermarket ones with the turn signals? lol.

Does someone have a spare one they would sell me? looking to pay $80 usd shipped to canada, inline with the ebay prices.
 
no, the only difference is the base of the mirror on the mazdaspeed is car color not black. the tweeter is seperate that you move out of the way to install the mirror. The mazdaspeed ofcourse is a power mirror
