What have you done to your MSP today?

yeah I know..lol Ive always wanted to be built and the turbo just seems like the perfect setup, thought about the 3076 but that might be a lil too much. I thought about the 28rs and 2871 but I don't want to get a turbo and then later on, feel like I need more power. So, Im settling on the 3071. I believe Sam is running the 3076 but I have never seen his car run with it to get a good idea of how it performs. It's a shame as long as I have been in Texas, I have never been to his shop or to any of their meets.

plus on my sig in future mods, I have had the 3071 on my wish list since March or April of 2009. May eventually ditch the 2.4 exhuast for their 3 in. and hopefully get the pope 3 in DP if Im not too late by then. and of course, a steedspeed mani and a VTCS/VICS delete. By the way, I may get headwork done and I plan on running a water/meth setup.

and im trying to meet up with some peeps while im in the orlando area but nobody wants to meet up
:(

s*** man, you could have pm'd me.. ;). When are you going to be in orlando, I can set up a meet.

moved my maf to the cold side today. was a real struggle with the stock intake and cold pipe in place, and my coolant overflow is in a pretty ghetto spot but it works =D.

idle seems a little smoother but who knows.

once i have my ssqv in hand, ill try to replace the coldpipe and i should still have enough random cut pipe to make an intake without touching the three brand new uncut pipes that came with my set =)

so far, $80 cdn invested into intercooler piping. gonna buy one 3" pipe to use as an intake and some couplers and its done until i get a bigger intercooler =) so.. $150 to replace the plastic pipes.

well, until i decide to replace the ghetto rubber couplers with silicon.

Swapped back in my 565cc injectors this weekend and at lunch I was doing a datalog for some fine tuning while making a run to redbox. Just into full boost and bam a huge smokescreen behind me!!! First thought blown headgasket or turbo seals...thankfully it was my lower radiator hose that blew from being a little too close to my dp...eventhough it had .25" clearance and was wrapped 4x with heatshield material.

My heart literally stopped!!
Temp fix using my old upper rad hose and an sls thermostat housing waiting to go in but obviously not soon enough!

it needed to be done 7/10 lol

And My exhaust is really loud (to me atleast) haha I need to get my CEL Fixed so I can get it inspected.

im totally in the same boat as you, hoping to get it done soon otherwise they can pull me over for the color being different haha

Today, I removed the OEM (yes, factory original) battery. LOL. I almost wonder if I put it back in in spring if I could get some more out of it.. but it'll be going in for the core likely tomorrow.

also put the steel hood back on.

replaced my coil packs and spark plug wires. car still didn't start because apparently the battery is dead after sitting in the cold for a week. i've got some jumper cables so hopefully that does the trick, but i need to warm up first since I just changed the parts out in the freezing wind and cold.

Well since it sat in the cold for a week the battery is dead, but I have jumper cables so I hooked it up and... SHE RUNS! No check engine light, no vacuum leak, nothing. I love simple fixes. Oh and now I have blue NGK plug wires that look really nice :)

Got my non fouler today, wil probably put it in tomorrow. It will be nice getting rid of that CEL, just in time for state inspections

A few gremlins in my car lately... this morning she just wouldnt stay running crank turnover then die off over and over then popped a cel. Finally after keeping on the pedal she struggled to hold an idle then a few minutes after warm up she was fine the rest of the day.

Checked the code thinking it was a maf high voltage that pops up here and there but it was p0505 idle control malfuction. 33deg this morning with tb coolant lines bypassed maybe made the throttle plate stick??

It isn't necessarily when it's cold, but once every 100 starts or so my car does something very similar. Turns over and starts but stumbles and dies after a couple seconds. Every time I let it sit a second and it starts up fine after a try or two. Don't think it's the TB if people in MUCH colder climates aren't having issues, My TB coolant is bypassed as well though.

And on a side note the bodyshop called and said the car was done already! I will post pics of the new paint when I pick it up.

Well... yet another problem. On my way back home from picking up dinner, I got on it a little bit in 4th and got this crazy muffled backfire sounding noise multiple times in a row so I immediately let off the gas. Tried boosting in 2nd down the road and as soon as I hit about 2-3 psi the same thing happened. It doesn't jerk the car like fuel cut but it completely bogs down and I feel like I'm going to blow the turbo. I checked for oil when I got home and did not see any.

Now for those that didn't read my post yesterday, I replaced the coilpacks and spark plug wires. Though I realized tonight that I neglected to switch out the plugs as well. I do have an extra set lying around. Does this sound like it could be a spark plug issue?
