What have you done to your MSP today?

this is why im asking about gaskets cause taking the mani off would be sooo so so so SOOO much easier than fiddling in there with fat fingers. if i take the manifold off, should i get new gaskets? and is there a chance they could leak after... 103,000 km?

enh, I've taken mine off and didn't replace the gasket, and since the mani was leaking from a loose bolt or something, I just cleaned the gaskets off with carb cleaner made it all nice and shinny again and placed it back on, it works great, I think that if you clean if off really well you'll be more than fine, I guess unless you see it bent in some places where it could leak, but if it's not leaking now, I'd say your fine, just clean it

Yes... every time you take anything off which has a gasket, its a good idea to replace it, especially metal gaskets. They expand, flatten and form to each side when you torque them down. Once you break that seal, its impossible to get it back exactly to how it was, so you should always replace the gasket. If nothing else, its a good policy to follow to be safe...

^^ hmm, didn't really think about it that way, I just figured since I was cleaning it and putting it back the same way and place it was before it would be good, but either way mine is going strong now so I guess next time I plan to take anything off will be when I build the engine and stick tons of stuff in there, in which case I will need to replace everything anyways.

anybody got the part # for the gauge cluster surround? and does anyone know if the dealer stil carries it and for how much?

ordered SS brake lines, figured since i have to dismantal the entire front to change my bearing, i might as well paint my calipers and change my brake lines and fluid all at the same time

since you're changing lines... just cut them, and paint with them still in the caliper.

that's the plan. looked at the how to last night and just makes since to do it all

just got a new coolant tank to replace the older cracked one... and was told that it sounded like i have air pockets in the hoses maybe so gonna try and correct these problems today.

I just scored a pair of star specs, a pair of RE-01Rs, and a pair of ventus RS2's for the FDs.... smorgasbord of tires, and all for under $100. Hell freckin yeah.

^^Woah. Good deal. I was going to pick up some RE-01r for the FDs but seller couldnt wait till the weekend. I think ill wait till next month and get star specs. Unless, another deal approaches me.

On another note, Got a new Pioneer headunit. Looks like I need a different wiring harness tho. So, back to BestBuy tomorrow.

well today I finally got my TT installed, worked first try, except it took me about 30min to figure out that damn menu setup, but it works, now just need to do the keyless bypass and the other wire cut so I can lock and arm my alarm when it is running lol
