What have you done to your MSP today?

I believe that some MBC's probably are pretty good, but since EBC's are known to usually work better I chose to go that route since high boost on our engine is bad juju.

I have a hard time believing that a EBC at 10x the cost would provide any better results. This is my first experience with boost control, and I've stayed on it through 2-4, and the boost was solid and stable in all 3 gears.

Well call it overkill if you like. I know they are pricey, but I do like being able to mess with it in the cabin and having a high and low boost setting to change it a whole 2 psi! LOL.

I see 2 psi as completely unjustified when I can do the same thing with a simple pop of the hood. Any more change than that and you should really be changing heat ranges on your plugs too, in which case, the purpose is defeated.

Nah, you just run the colder plugs on the low boost setting. (2thumbs) Won't hurt anything. I am running a plug not even meant for the MSP, lol.

ya I run colder plugs at both settings, I set mine to 8psi when it's cooler out and 9.7-10 when it's warm (and once I get it tuned correctly so it doesn't hit fuel cut lol) but ya if I didn't get the ebc for free with the car like I said, I would have deff. stuck with the JoeP mbc, that thing held boost really well with no spike what so ever, sooo much easier to use and more consistent than the ebc, where the boost changes with the temp. outside..

put my car on jacks, 99% sure it's my bearing, the noise was much worse today and was more of a grinding sound. Once I got it up on jacks i rotate the wheel and it was a little resistant and felt lumpy when turning it

any recomendations on bearings? just go through the stealership? how much roughly am i gonna spend?

I want to raise the boost to 9psi. I will do so soon. Picked up tires for the FD wheels. Got a killer deal on them.

I want to up the boost too, but I still need something to tune with..lol. I always get mixed answers with tuning to 8-9 psi and 8-9 psi being ok without tuning which turns to not needing tuning until above 10 psi. So...Im not touching the boost until I save up for it.

tonight im hiding car under the carport and a blanket cause cant get it in the garage. big ass hail storm moving in. hmm..excellent, tornado sirens going off now, time to hide myself in the bathtub lol. got to love oklahoma

for the first time, there was a third gen pro at the local pull a part. i grabbed some things for my cruise control project. and i took the emblems. only need one or two more things for the cruise

i can shake my front wheel with my hand. awesome! looks like i'm not going to be driving fo a little while

silly question, but my new wga actuator is coming soon and i figure while im in there ill replace some gaskets.

does the calaway manifold use a regular 2.0l exhaust gasket? and do i need a mazda specific 4 bolt t25 flange gasket and 5 bolt downpipe gasket, or can i get whatever my auto parts store happens to have?

also. my turbo seems to have some oil stains on it, anything i should replace on there?

noticed my turbo had some oil on it too, and it's starting to smell sometimes

i still have a really annoying screech when i get high rpm boost.. i might take out the camera and try to replicate it, but its hard to get the sound when there is vibration in the cabin/air wizzing by the camera...

whatever it is, it doesn't sound healthy.

they are all metal gaskets really no need to change them just for the hell of it. And good luck having your autoparts store having those gaskets.

As far as the oil stains go where are they? i know the oil drain o ring tends to go bad and needs replacing

when i changed my clutch i noticed a little oil stain on the bottom of the turbine housing. my car isn't losing oil, just curious.

will i need to take the exhaust manifold off to get the wga replaced?

I did mine without taking it off, but it was a pain in the ass. a swivel ratcheting combo wrench woulda made it go a lot faster, and getting the E-clip back on required the use of a long standard screwdriver, a magnet, and a lot of patience.
