What have you done to your MSP today?

Probably not because I was gonna go up to Harrisburg where my friend has a lift we can use to do it. I'd do it on a jack + stands, but the leverage might be weird. I wanted to throw some $$ your way to help me out yesterday, but I needed it done ASAP. I definitely didn't want to be driving around at 14psi. Just an accident waiting to happen...

Yeah, I'm interested to see what the boost gauge tells me (when I get it)

Learn to drive? (freak)

I wish I would have taken pictures now, but we got it done. Only major part we got hung up on was getting this freakin c-clamp off of the arm the WGA hooks onto. The b**** was in the most inaccessible spot evAr and took us nearly 2 hours of fighting to get it back on. We also cut the old WGA control arm with bolt cutters cause I was too lazy to undo the nut on the one end...

Some words of advice are to be careful with your hot-pipe, as I sheered off the nub that goes to the BPV tube and had to epoxy it back on. I ordered a Samco pipe to replace it. Also, you're gonna want to remove the #1 O2 sensor and the heat shield (as well as the left-side engine hoist ring) to make it more accessible. Its definitely a bit of a pain in the ass because there's NO room in that engine, but honestly, we figured it out without a guide or service manual. I'm sure there's an easier way (like dropping the whole turbo system out of the car) but we did what made sense to us. Total work time was about 4 hours.
4 hours?? OUCH. damn dude. w/ the hot car took me about2 hours..

anyways, at least it's done. listen, if you want me to do it, i'll do it. no issues.. i'll have it apart and together in no time and have you back on the road, w/ a very fair price.

Yeah, as I said, about 2 of those hours were ******* with that C-clamp... It did NOT wanna go back on at all. If we got through that part easier, I guess it would have been about a 2 hour job.

I'll let you know what the deal is for the swaybar. Keep in mind I have a lot of stuff coming, and will DEFINITELY need help with the Boost and Oil Temp gauges...

well that's what i was talking about your gauges, pipes etc etc... put it all in the car, drop it off w/ the car. come back the same day done.

super boo..

btw, having a mani leak, would cause slow spool times and s*** like that..correcT?? cuz my car feels SOO ******* slow.

It sure would seem that way. If a bad vacuum line reduces vacuum enough to delay boost, imagine what the loss of vacuum from a bad mani seal could do...

Just ordered a new different model cd player, kenwood off ebay. New. Can't wait.

So if anyone wants my stocker it'll be for sale soon maybe, if I don't give it away. Need's the ribbon fix in order to play cd's.

yeah. well it gurgles too on occasion(sucks air back in the leak) i THINK.. but like.. it's SOOO slow. my vac is perfect, and when i actually HIT boost, it reads 7psi.

you are talking about the intake mani, right? Cuz a bad seal at the exhaust mani wouldn't affect vacuum... just exhaust pressure, I think.

Also, items I'm about to throw away if anyone buys the stock kenwood msp cd player,...
I'll throw in a Thrush Turbo american style brand new muffler, mint condition crx/civic si 88-91 Engine and dash harnesses with 4 ls or b16 (IDK I'm not a honda guy) injector's. Oh and I have a set of 2002 Ford focus beautiful N/A polished headers with downpipe and bolts, gaskets. Otherwise I'll throw these things away.

Let me know...pm me.

exhaust mani.

and yea, exhaust pressure. hence not spooling the turbo quick enough etc.

So I've been studying up and I kind of understand it now. Of course I'll never be able to explain it right. Basically, when exhaust pressure is reduced due to the leak, the engine will suck oxygen back through the site of the leak, trying to equalize pressure. The sensor reads the oxygen as a false lean situation and reports it to the ECU. The ECU then tells the air/fuel controller to run richer to compensate. You risk fouling plugs, etc. If it overcorrects enough, the engine starts choking itself and bogs... If I'm right about this, you should be able to check your plugs and find them black and wet.

gotcha. well. could be it.. maybe not. i know that for now, i put my hand there at the leak and revved it and it was moist....
