What have you done to your MSP today?

I took some new pics , i'll post them tomorrow because i'm lazy.
My coolant hose that connects to the "by-pass pipe #1"<-according to onlinemazda, has a small hole but it leaks like a mofo. I think the new hose cost like $3 bucks, but its a pain in the ass to reach since it starts behind the engine.
The problems with this car never end, but I love her regardless.

Don't be lazy...just do it! post the pics! ha

sounds to me like its the hose that runs to the throttle body? if so bypass the coolant into the TB (just heats your intake charge)

Check awr themselves for the pan. You may have to call them though. Also for the trans cooler it will probably have to be custom fabbed. The oil cooler is also a custom fab piece but shouldn't be too hard. Just a oil sandwich plate, some braided lines and a oil cooler. Fitting all of this in the front bumper arear with the radiator, front mount, condenser, power steering cooler, trans cooler, and oil cooler will be fun and is gonna take some serious fans

there is much more to breaking in an engine than mileage

1. idle the engine for a good two hours using DINO oil, do NOT run synthetic at first

2. change the oil, again with dino

3. fire up the car and take it out on the road, performing pulls basically like the following:
(x5-6 times)
--0-30, staying under 4k rpms
--30-0 using brakes with clutch disengaged
(mix in a harder pull like this on occasion)
--0-50, staying under 5k rpms
--50-0 with clutch disengaged
(x2-3 times)
--0-60, staying under 4k rpms
--60-0 with clutch engaged

4. change the oil, again with dino

5. cruise around at around 30-40 without going over 4k rpms for around 200 miles....do not brake with clutch engaged

6. change your oil, again with dino

7. go for another 300 miles, staying under 4k rpms around 30-40 and braking without clutch engaged....however, mix in the occassional pull to 60 up to around 5k rpms

8. change the oil, using dino...you should be at around 500 miles on the car now

9. run the car to 1500 miles like that, stay under 4k for most of the time and mix in occassional hard pulls to 60 up to 5-6k rpms...it's key to mix in some hard pulls, just not super often, if you baby the engine too much you won't seat your piston rings properly

10. change your oil, you can run synthetic now....don't push it too hard until you get to 3k rpms, but you can push it a little more

you don't gotta stick to that regiment perfectly, it's just a guideline to follow....everyone will have a different oppinion on this matter too

Very informative and precise. Thanks for the info. Hopefully she's ready this weekend for me to start doing all this.

Got two used tires that practiclly look brand new installed for 125 mounted and balanced.

The guy at the body shop knows me well and is straight as hell. He knows what this MSP means to me lol so he said he would do everything he can to fix it.

man that is great freaking news!!!!

Started removing the stock exhaust to install my GHL...Man wat a PITA the S-pipe is...I had to unbolt the Manifold to get to the bottom to bolts. I atleast got the down-pipe installed. Also swap out my Wastegate actuator with a ATP....

Gave her a wash and detail today. got the pizza smell out ha ha. Hoping my sub carpeting shows up this week. so i can make the huge box in my trunk look less ghetto.

had a dude driving a viper srt 10 compliment the color of my car while i was washing... and man. his car was DAMN sexy..

My MSP should be back up and running this week sometime. Unfortunately I can't pick her up till the weekend. But at least I'll have her back after a month or so.

What exactly happened to your car?

i ass-ended a minivan. was doing 40 mph when i slammed on the brakes so i'd say i hit it doing 25 maybe. completely f'ed up my whole front end. over 4k in damage. when i took it to progressive for their estimate they ripped the front bumper almost all the way off...and slammed it back on so when i was on my way to work it fell off and i barely made it there after slamming it back on myself. so once i got to work i had a tech look at it and he said it had to come off. so then i drove around without a front bumper for about a week or so LOL. not to mention i have a cai which was chillin out in the open ready to suck up water, and it snowed once and rained once yet it didn't. <3 injen

so long story short my car hates me now and i'm mspless for a week or so until it gets fixed. (sad1)

yeah at least its not totaled! i have a feeling im gonna be mspless for a month or so.... i just want it back already!!!

dropped her off for an $80.00 inspection, told them to check out a few things and got a call with a quote around $850...

inspection/emissions - $79.99
replace all belts - $147
rear bushings - $88
front bushings - $515
valve cover gasket - $140
front mm - just labor, I have a medieval ive been waiting to put on, but they wont give me my inspection sticker unless its replaced first, so I have to take it to them and pay for labor I can do myself, ughh...

So, change the belts and give me my car back please, I'll take it from there.
