What have you done to your MSP today?

installed my new AFC 2 days ago.. went to try it out yesterday.. im pleased with the result @ 9.5 psi.now another freakin snowstorm is coming with 10 inches of snow sleet freezing rain ... **** will we ever see summer? :(

I still think I have a vac leak in my AFC/Boost gauge line. I took everything off and pressure tested the whole thing and no leaks but when I put everything back on I can still hear a slight whistle - double zip-tied and all.

ahhhh. no....:'(

was under teh car to replace a lost s-j-pipe nut that was causing an exhaust leak only to find a much larger one on the Thunder mani. time for a replacement.

more details to come, not trying to make a big deal about this. I have contacted Gary and he'll get back to me. There is supposed to be a warranty so i shoul dbe gettign a replacement. I have one of the first batch ones which had more than one problem so I hope they worked those out in the later versions.

im not worried about customer service, i know gary is great. im worried about where i should be checking mine for issues.

yeah me too, i'm certain that if anything goes wrong, gary will pull through and deliver

Soooooooooo question for you all....

I've been running mobil 1 10w-30 for years now....should i be running 5w-30? I figured being in FL the higher weight stuff was better....

Thoughts?

Intake arrived today, will be installing on thursday, I will be writing a review as to how it performs since I will be the only MSP with this intake on the forums as far as I can tell, I guess I'm the guinea pig.

He is. Keep an eye on the EGR tube, mine was never connected so there was no tension on it, but on mine the first runner (driver's side) has started to seperate form the assembly. Nice long crack too.

You use oil? s***, maybe that's why my motor sounds like ass (nervous).

j/k, you should be fine with 10w30. Both will be the same viscosity when up to operating temp anyways.

I did find this tidbit below interesting though...

Is there a disadvantage to using an oil that flows better when cold, i.e. 5W30 versus 10W30?
Sometimes, but usually not. The crux of the issue is this: the bigger the difference between the cold oil viscosity and the hot oil viscosity, the more the volume of viscosity modifiers and the less the volume of base stock. If you are good about following the manufacturer's recommended oil change interval then stick with the 5W30 if that is the preferred oil for your vehicle, even if 10W30 is acceptable in warmer climates. Older cars may specify 10W30 only. This is because they need a little more viscosity when cold to keep a protective film on the cylinder walls. There have been instances where the larger amount of viscosity modifiers that are present in 5W30 have broken down due to excessive heat and have left carbon deposits on the valves, but this is extremely rare. The proper fix would be to reduce the excessive heat, but the workaround was to use an oil with less viscosity modifiers.
