What have you done to your MSP today?

miguel im not even going to answer just please go get a tape measurer or a ruler and look how big 3 and a half inches is then come back to me and tell me your head gasket is that thick

I am not saying i have 3head gasket installed in my car, i know TBK lowered the compression to 8.1:1 using a thick cometic head gasket, but ive seen somewhere cometic sells 60mm and 90mm and custom. im serching and ill post you a link.

i've seen that too but they cannot be talking about thickness because that's about as thick as the head is then

I'm just repeating what i have seen... it clearly says 84mm, 60mm and 90mm.. now if thats not the thickness i cant really tell you I'm not a expert, all i know the shop that did my car ordered a custom cometic head gasket to lower the compression to get more air into the cylinders.. how thick it is i have no idea, all i know i have 8.1:1 compression in the car right now.




yeap you are right. the 90mm is the bore size not the thickness, the thickness runs from .027, .051, .074and then custom..

84mm is the cylinder bore. that head gasket you just showed is stock thickness .030. once again they do not make 90mmTHICK headgaskets

i have just found that out Ryan. 90mm is the bore size not thickness, but cometic makes the gasket custom if you need something thicker. i know i have a thick one to lower the compression as mentioned before to 8.1:1

I agree with you, but in a way you are comparing a car in these case the EVO that brand new they cost almost 37-38k when the MSP cost 20k, I mean if with near 20k more value is not better. I really used to be in love with Evo's but honestly i love my MSP and i wouldn't change it for any EVO or STI. i have done so many stuff to it. i have upgraded almost every weak spots of these car and with a few more stuff I'm doing I'll have a very good and unique machine and no need to get anything else. What I don't really like is that There are Hundreds, Thousands of Mitsubishi's Evo's out here making some nasty numbers, fast ones, like AMS have, they are a lot of Evos and Sti's out there fast ass hell, but how Mazda Mazda Protgs you see out there Making Big Numbers ? almost none, that's why i want and I'm sure all of you guys that owns a mazdaspeed protg or a regular protg would love to have a car that almost no one has out there, at least me i love to be unique and have something different from others and not be part of the bunch of people that owns a car you see in every corner. Don't get me wrong, The Lancer Evo's are beautifull machines, well done and nice cars, but it will take more than that for me to change my MSP for an Evo.

My thoughts exactly, i have always wanted my car to be different from everyone elses. I even went so far as to try and mod a 98 Saturn SCI which was my first car. I could have gotten a WRX, or an evo but I knew not everyone is driving around in a MSP and that is why I chose this car. It is not all about numbers the element of individuality is also important.
 
because the msp is a bad platform that you have to dump a shitton of money into to actually make half way decent hp. how much have you put in your car miguel over 22k?

hey, its a protege. whose fault is it that people want to make 'decent' hp in their grocery getter? ;)

for teh 17.5k i paid i definately got my moneys worth.
 
i knwo what your saying. but you also have to agree with me and say that the msp is a bad platorm for making power without dumping a s*** ton of money into it

i dont remember seeing rave reviews for the MSP's tuning platform
 
they didn't come out at the same time either so they saw the error of Mazdas ways in not doing a better job with the motor.

the SRT's first production year was 2003...however they also didnt come with a LSD or the bigger injectors that year.

lol i know what your sayin but when ppl say you dont know what the fs can do just put money into it its a great platform. it just like wtf how many ppl blow there motors lol
