What have you done to your MSP today?

I also went "polished". Its a little more work to keep up cuz the heat in the engine bay starts to discolor it again, but its worth it for how it cleans up the bay!

Nice, that looks great. I will be installing it this weekend when i install my CS radiator. The turbolife hotpipe has to be removed in order for me to put the heatshield back on and the hotpipe was a pia to put on so i wasn't about to uninstall it until i had to haha

have a few parts that will be installed as soon as i get them..
fidanza 7# flywheel, thunder trubo manifold, slim fans and maybe a custom spipe/jpipe combo. ported/polished head with 3 angle valve job, and i will be installing the twiggys.. keep your fingers crossed for it to be running again by the end of the year!

how did you get it that shiny? a rag and metal polish?

400grit sandpaper, 800grit sandpaper, 1000grit sandpaper, 2000grit sandpaper, then mothers aluminum polish. Each time i switched to a new sandpaper i would change the direction i was sanding.

This was yesterday, so I'm kind of cheating, but I installed the Corksport polyurethane front engine mount inserts. I tried to get the rear one installed too, but I can't get the stock mount off. I mauled my hands until I lost daylight - seriosully frustrating.

I also planned to install the AWR adjustable swaybar end links...but much like the rear engine mount, I couldn't get the old links off. The upper nuts just spin and the bottom ones don't even turn. This really bothered me since my passenger side link is already broken, and I figured yesterday would be the day to finally fix it. Guess not :(

You should have kept the built motor in and then you would have a pretty serious build.

Decided to polish my exhaust manifold heat shield today. Definitely not perfect but I am happy with the results. This was my first attempt at polishing something and only spent about 2 hours on it.
Before

After

Nice job. I gotta give this a try. I hate how my heatshield looks.

Its really easy. Like i said it was my first attempt at polishing anything. The more time you spend sanding the better the outcome, but its pretty easy to make it look decent.

any response to my previous post? Has anyone run anything other than low profile tires on the stock wheels? I think I may need new tires and dont feel like paying for low profile tires

Define low-profile? I'm running the stock size on my wheels, but didn't get charged the "low profile" installation costs when I had them put on. I think low-profile is anything under a 40-series sidewall.

I'm currently running Kumho Escta MXs at 215/45/17.

Im talking about putting on reg tires, that have some more cusion to them. ill try find pics to show you what im talking about

^Im tired of paying more for the low profile tire when i can get the same performance from a reg. tire that is made for performance. So has anyone run reg tires on the stock msp wheels
