What have you done to your MSP today?

Man, I don't know... I have bikes too, and his method is exactly how we seat the rings on them. But they are 4-stroke, small displacement, single cylinder motors. I've never heard anyone say that the same method should be used on larger four cylinder motors too.

The up and down method is for the same thing; to seat the rings and valves and I know its safe. But I see the logic in what he says too....

Here's a bit from his article....

Although the examples shown here are motorcycle engines,
these principles apply to all 4 stroke engines:

Street or Race Motorcycles, Cars, Snowmobiles, Airplanes & yes ...
even Lawn Mowers !!
( regardless of brand, cooling type, or number of cylinders. )

Like I said, I've never done it or know anyone that has and torn apart the engine afterwards. I think that would be the only way to tell honestly. I know when I first brought my car home from the dealer I got on it before 500 miles and I have no problems with it now. I wouldn't beat the s*** out of it all the time but I don't think it will hurt it getting on it at all.

Totally off the topic.... Does anyone know for sure if you need to drain your oil before disconnecting the oil lines from the turbo?

No you do not need to drain the oil. All the turbo lines are above the oil level (very important for all turbo cars to have the turbo oil drain above the oil level)

About the stock turbo setup, I heard something about a recirc oil lines or dedicated oil lines or something like that. How are the stock turbos in the MSP's cooled/oiled/whatever?

Kale co auto makes an engine oil bypass kit that may be what your talking about

just installed my CF JDP lip and DG CF eyebrows

Mirrors are not just painted different they are different material all together so they are not the same. Msp had no bumper markers. All p5 grilles were black all msp grilles were color matched.

And I am pretty positive the grey sedan headlights and the black msp headlights are different but I am not gonna stand by that until I can look into it

They're the same parts, same car dude. Minor differences. (screwy)

Dub is so bitter... Makes me lol

I feel his pain cause I was in the same boat with my pseudo Sport20. As long as you don't call it a MSP, or claim it to be a MSP then you've got nothing to hide. Revel in the fact that you own and drive a Protege... That's what it's all about

Nah, I ain't ricer w/ it. I've never claimed my car as a msp, I gots love for the msp but I gots a lot more for mine cause most of you know how crazy I've gone w/ this damn car. lol.

yeah we respect your progression, but think about how much work you've put in to make it like an MSP that it'll never be! lol

Shut up you jerk. I never wanted to make it a msp, I just liked the body style. If I really wanted to make it a msp, I'd have a lot to do still, tail lights, headlights, spoiler, rear glass, antenna delete, msp brakes, rsb, painted mirrors, interior, (blah)

I will admit this Dub... your car is damn sexy. However, you are in the MSP section.

Jus' sayin'.

You know we razz you because we love you right Dub? :D
