What have you done to your MSP today?

It seems to come on pretty quick but smooth. As in any load at all builds boost ha.

I used studs for all manifold holes but the middle bottom three and the top center.

Finally washed and gave 1574 a quick wax last night. Paint is pretty bad on it but with if I polish what is left and re-spray the back right door, the A pillars and front and rear bumpers, it would actually look pretty good.

Just had a last minute thought at work... can anyone remember if the oil cooler return is t'd to the top or bottom heater hose?

So a friend and I finally cleaned the cowl drains on both sides. I would describe them as cowl drain crevices not cowl drain holes. But nevertheless there was a bunch of gunk and debris in there. I widened them as well so that way they won't get clogged for a long time. I also noticed that the firewall rubber panel was half off of the hole which caused additional water to leak inside the car. I repositioned the panel to fit flush and ran all the wires in an existing hole in the middle of the panel. Going to remove the underliner cloth under the carpet so no mold will grow. Finally, a nice and dry car :)

i remember this problem and im glad you solved it. i removed my fender liners and found a pile of dirt lol. friend also caulked a seam inside the passenger floor area. im sure the caulk helped but my money is on the stupid debris collection.

Was up until 4am helping my friend install an almost brand new take-off MSP GT25 and new inlet gasket on his MSP #1572. Somehow the nuts backed out of the old turbo and it had completely fallen off, the exhaust melted the A/C slim fan lol. Got it all fixed up and even removed his VTCS flaps since we had to pull the intake to get the oil line off (fitting was rounded on turbo).

Just another day in the life keeping MSPs alive and on the road.

.... fallen off...? That's pretty funny ha. I can believe it though. I was missing all the bolts from cylinder 1 ha.

I could hear the car a mile away when he was on his way over, I knew something was very wrong. He had barely even popped his hood to see what it was.... And now his parents want him to sell the car because it is 'unreliable', honestly the car has had it's fair share of issues. FAR more problems than I have ever had with my MSP, but they are all based on the previous owner's 'mods' or from using cheap or incorrect parts.

Getting my windshield replaced. Also got my pod filter in the mail.. so I can finally finish my FMIC install.

HOWEVER.. I just bought the mishimoto rad, shroud, and fans.. No cheap crap.. Might just do it all together. I don't want to fight for clearance on the hot pipe, only to turn around and MAKE clearance days later.. seems kind of counter productive to me.

Pointing the turbo down helps a ton. I ran my hotpipe down under the rad hose but through the front where the power steering wanted to be. The bends I used weren't super ideal. I think a 45 off the turbo and two 90s would have been best. I might take a pic later. Hell of a lot cleaner than the up then down routing. Though you have to retap compressor for wga bracket.

still have to drill the compressor as it will be pointing down instead of up...

when i get some damn money... exchange is bad right now, my job is bad right now.. trying to start a freelance paint business on the side of my fulltime job. the plan wasnt to come back to the msp for 3-5 years though. i might do a little here and there on the stand, but im giving serious though to importing a sport 20 special instead.. dropping forged innards on the ZE and boosting it to the moon. 4wd familia seems to have a pretty good reputation around the world so who knows.. i wont get it if i cant get my hands on a special though.

if nothing else my msp will stick around as a clean shell til i figure out what to do with it.

stand by for a pic of why i did my hotpipe the way i did and why it ISNT a pita.. but does require removing the turbo to make the new taps.

ps, i understand how some might question the point of building the p5 with all the msp bits and leaving a perfectly good msp in the garage.. unfortunately my msp needs at minimum a shortblock rebuild and LSD replacement with trans bearings. but thats basically grounds for a full on build. its hard to say what ill actually do cause both cars are worth fk all... but the p5 is much more useful as a daily driver. the msp was always a cruiser kinda. attracts attention, sort of practical.. until you have a p5 that is.
