my bet is its a physical problem. vac leak, plugs or something along those lines.

Well I really have no idea if I have a vac leak or not since my boost gauge has been ****** up since day one. I dropped it on a hardwood floor trying to pry it out of the inpenetrable packaging...yea that's the kind of luck I have with this car. 60 bucks down the drain. It is an Autometer with a carbon fiber face. Decent brand, but kind of a bad model. I'm looking to get a Prosport to match my wideband since that works pretty well, but I'm not sure if I want to go digital with the boost or not. Thoughts? Not looking to spend a fortune on the new gauge so hopefully less than $100.
Also, would it be safe to install new plugs before leaning it out? I don't want to ruin brand new plugs.
running plugs rich doesn't ruin them.. at worst you will have to clean them. either way if you're on an AFC you should be fine.
over time? they're $12 for the set, who cares?
auto parts store... NGK ZFR6F-11
if you're upping the boost consider moving to the next heat range too.
Please note too, that all those plugs come gapped at .44 which is near perfect for NA Proteges, but way too open for boosted Proteges. You will need to gap the plugs at approx .30 to .32
Gentlemen,
I feel I should remind you that if you have an issue with an item that someone sold you, you need to take it up with them first before bashing them publicly.
The problem here is that a few of you guys are jumping to conclusions that I know for a fact are untrue. At minimum, attempt to solve your issues privately and post the conclusions (or lack thereof) publicly once sufficient time has passed.
I once layed in the same bed as Dino and Ken...
Just sayin...
gross as that may be. it is true.
