so originally i thought all i really needed after my fiasco was the strut bearing...i was wrong. took my whole strut assembly to mazda and had them do a once-over and the advisor showed me how there were some parts bent that shouldn't've'been bent and so forth. i completely agreed, and ended up getting several more parts to include the bearing i had already bought

i did art s*** for you laymans out there....

this is what i thought i needed:

sooo...verdict is $240-something for the parts, not including the $217 i spent on the new tire already. and $0 for labor because ive got a bud who has a spring compressor that i will be utilizing

that's juuuuuuuuuust under my insurance premium so i am still optimistic about having done everything myself and not filed an insurance claim when it happened. although im not really sure if i could have

it's all fun and games until somebody's car gets ****** up...then it's hilarious for everyone but me

Might have broke mine. I over revved in a spirited encounter with a maxima on my way home from work. And now my BPV is making a weird noise when you let off the gas. It dumps then kinda stutters and whistles a bit then closes. All my boost tubes are tight. I might have popped the TMIC but all my tools are at work, so i cant pull it. It doesnt make any mechanical noises like bearings or valvetrain, no DTC's or rough idle. i sprayed the vaccum system and boost tubes with intake cleaner to find any leaks, the only time the idle got rough was at the BPV (turboxs hybrid valve ). Any ideas ?

swap back to the oem bpv and see if theres a change

i revved mine to well over 8k a few times (4th back to 3rd going WOT) and everything's fine

revving won't hurt, succesfully putting it into a gear that will force it above redline is different. ie, going from 6th gear at 100mph to 2nd gear

plan on doing that tommorow. what symptoms would a bad TMIC show ?Im kinda scared to lean into to it to see if i Hurt it .

why are you so quick to blame the tmic?

go over all your couplers and make sure youre 100%

if you have a dashhawk or ap, check your trims, if you have a leak somewhere, that will tell you right away

what kinda numbers in the LT / ST fuel trims should i be looking for ?

mod list?

if your pulling unmetered air in under vacuum, your going to be adding massive amounts of fuel at idle

if you have a boost leak you will be pulling fuel under boost

oh and fyi, i blew a boost tube about a week after my fmic install

the car will not drive.....at all

cobb SRI, cobb TIP, CS D/P, ********** boost tubes, Cobb A/P stage 1 93 SRI & TB exhaust, TurboXS hybrid BPV 50/50, Denso IV 22 plugs.

well I think i fixed it. I swapped back the OEM BPV and he idle seems better and the throttle response is quicker. The piston on the TurboXS BPV had alot of scaring on it, which is strange becuase i lube it every 3K when i do the oil. It was pulling vaccum throught the piston from the atmosphere at idle. I found that with some intake cleaner. I also found a loose clamp at the throttle body bost tube. I suspect that at boost the BPV was venting. I wouldnt hold boost . It would peak at 20 and bleed off to around 12, never really stabilized.

Hopefully this fixed it.

The TSB where they put 5-40 in it ??

I did the oil change about a month ago. Didn't work at all.

Is there a new TSb that involves the V/C ?

New TSB (Bulletin No. 01-002/11) was released last month (2/23) and has been posted about on both the other forums since it came out. There's a revised valve cover & TIP that get's installed and the breather hose gets relocated from the intake tube down to the TIP.
